yesterday was the 20th anniversary of len bias' death. it is shocking to me that it was 20 years ago; i still recall vividly the feeling, as i was playing some basketball at school, of someone breaking the news. it was more shocking to me than the challenger blowing up (which i think was only a few months earlier).
