yo, i got my annual NBA draft preview coming if ya want it..

bring on da draft

Pic1dat: Cross between Jason Bateman and Oliver Platt.

the year tripucka was drafted in the 1st round (81) there were 4 colleges that sent 2 players into the 1st round (notre dame, indiana, utah, maryland). has something like that ever happened before or after, or were there just fewer good programs then? dlee?

just off the top of my head, here are my guesses as to those 8 people:
maryland - buck williams, albert king
notre dame - tripucka, o. woolridge?
indiana - isiah, randy wittman?
utah -- Tom Chambers, ?

utah - danny vranes?

close! 7/8 (and vranes is correct).
wittman is incorrect. hint-the nets had 3 1st rounders that year.

correct answers are:

pic1dat: jason bateman (mdilly)
pic2dat: ronald reagan (dlee)

i'm seeking arbitration re pic1dat. what's the process?

and the "martin zellar's not famous" defense doesn't apply, because neither is jason bateman.

Finn --

nothing against martin zellar -- I read a lot of good things about him in my Replacements travels. I even have a version of him singing "Darkness on the Edge of Town" on a Springsteen covers CD. And the photo you chose is pretty good.

but the question is not, who do these guys look like, but who do I think they look like. There can only be one correct answer for each: Bateman and Reagan.

fair point. my decision to seek arbitration was fueled by one too many beers at twins/dodgers game (who new mauer was such a stud?).

and i'm not sure a recorded version even exists, but if you can find zellar's cover of "the first cut is the deepest" it'll give you goosebumps.
