>> Success bloats our self-opinion. It makes us assume larger success lies just ahead.

this is why you buy low and sell high (see, stock market.)

when I was 21-24, I was flying around the country having my ass kissed by all the top chefs in all the major cities, because they believed that my co-workers and I could actually get them their own cooking show*.

Now I drive a beat up pickup truck, wear work clothes that get dirty every day and haven't visited any major cities in almost 10 years. I think I had my heydey.

*well, one guy ended up getting his own show- but it sure wasn't because he wined and dined us!

1) Jason Williams ..all 3 of them! (sports)
2) Ralph Macchio, Steven Segal, Vin Diesel, Emilio Estevez (movies)
3) Rosanne, Dan Patrick, David Caruso (TV)
4) DMX, Fiona Apple, Axl (music)
5) Bleeker Street Cinema, Edge Bar (old version), Zito's Bread, 2nd Avenue Deli, John's Pizza (old version)

These lists are greatness. David Caruso for sure. Terence Trent D'Arby. Melanie Griffith. Lindsay Lohan. M. Night Shyamalan. Tatum O'Neal.

Also: homo sapiens

my only problem with caruso is that he found a second chance (CSI whatever) on a pretty much equally successful level as the first. so he probably still thinks he's unstoppable.

same goes for don (nash bridges) johnson. philip michael thomas, however -- there's a guy whose roof basically collapsed right on his head.

here's his wiki page ---->

the best part: "EGOT"

wow

Don Imus (not that I think he was ever awesome, but I'm sure he did)
Eddie Grant
Dexy's Midnight Runners
Patrick Tompkins
MC Hammer
Piper Perabo
Ben Affleck
Wesley Snipes
Kirk Cameron

The other guy from Wham!
The McRib
Brian Bosworth
The Pontiac Fiero

Is the movie True Romance?

yes joe! nice!

though both are kinda chuckers, I hope the Knicks get Bayless or Gordon. Galinari looks soft and slow and Westbrook looks kinda like a slightly better Fred Jones.

side note I: Kevin Love is either the second coming of Mike Sweetney or Al Harrington.

side note II: Beasly has one of the worst NBA personalities I've EVER seen. think about it, Miami's pondering passing on Beasly and drafting Mayo because he has LESS character issues. That's like dating Lohan over Paris becuase she seems like better wife material. insane..

oops ..meant Al Jefferson on Love.

I was rally hoping for a DLee NBA season recap or draft preview... can we at least expect a recap of the draft?

BJL

no doubt ..i just got a bit lazy.

Charles Manson and Barbaro are fucking brilliant and hilarious entries.

American sweethearts take hard hits i.e.
Katie Couric
Sara Moulton, should never have just abandoned cooking live and her fans.
Liza Minnelli and her mother Judy.
and those girls who sang Barracuda.

I think for horses we can't ever forget Big Brown~~~~
"Dude, What---you want me to run AGAIN!!?"

True, Hans, Caruso did make a nice save. I guess the bravado of his first move, thinking he could go from NYPD Blue to a mega movie career, still sticks in my mind.

People Who Suspect Didn't Realize Their Awesomeness Had A Shelf Life Until It Was Too Late:

the Danza
Rush Limpbaugh
Peggie Noonan
Francis Fukuyama
Alexander Hamilton
