Good post, also enjoying the pics in this and previous. Calif. real estate is not much better than Brooklyn's but the quality of life might be better. Husband wants to live in West Village but we need about a gazillion dollars more than we have now to ever afford buying there, here in Northern Cali or Brooklyn for that matter.

SoCal is fun to visit, but odd to live in...I know you have in-laws there, but the people, I found, are generally extremely surface level and dim and are just missing that little somethin' that you get growing up with ass kicking winters...I think the winters are waht give that extra ounce of thoughtfulness that SoCal'ers seem to lack.


I agree about the NYC getting a man down on hisself. But everything else sucks, too.
