Thanks for the recap on Bruce and the sound advice...I am heading to the nearest rest stop come lunch-time!
Somehow, although I am not there yet, I can understand what you guys are talking about. I guess it's just tough to "grow up" and be responsible for more than just me.
She is a good person, much, much better than I, and somehow she loves me. I am truly lucky for that.

I hear you on the bruce fans- they are loyal, but they really have a sense of entitlement about them.
I remember at the rock for change concerts hearing people complain about not wanting to hear this politics- AT the concerts!

PoCho Pete -- is the hell mainly internal or between you guys?
This topic fascinates me. I think marriage is an outmoded institution and yet we all gravitate toward it. I agree with what Hans says about the tranquility and being part of something, that's a bonus of marriage that I really like too.
I don't think you have to be married to have that tranquility with someone, though the formal declaration and legal status do cement the bond nicely. I also don't think that marriage "fixes" or makes disappear half the things that people hope it will. Issues that are there today will be there after the honeymoon if you don't work to resolve them.

Hans -- I really really identified with your concert post, especially the part about the audience. Love it.
