don't sweat the heavy kid shit. a lotta folks/kids i've encountered had fluctuating weight early in life and became healthy lean adults later on. hell, i was a chubby kid myself 'til i turned 5 or so.
PS: how'd the softball game become shitty? i'm back so be sure to bring A game on rock paper scissors..

Genetics are weird:
My oldest (8 year old girl) is 15% height and 5% weight.
My second (6 year old boy) is 80% height and 50% weight.
My youngest (4 year old girl) is 15% height and 50% weight.
I myself am quite a specimen. 5'5" and a buck 75. Damn near close to maximum human density.

i hammered an IEHR last night which:
-- crossed leroy and set off an SUV's intruder alert system
-- drew noticeable applause from a group of pedestrians
not bragging. (OK bragging). but we were wondering if that was a jimmy walker first (the car alarm)...?

I'm sorry to bust on your new sort-of hero at work , but the workplace is no place for pushups. However, it's nice that you're inspired health-wise by your coworkers.

"The workplace is no place for pushups."
I'm sorry, but I must take issue with this statement. It's that kind of thinking that crushes brilliance, art and progress. And that's all I've got to say about that.

change doctors. that's a ridiculous thing for him/her to tell you. i'd at least call shenanigans and make him back it up. in my experience, a lot of kids put on weight, then get taller and 'stretch out' without gaining, then do it again and again until *at least* 3 or 4. maybe 5.
plus, i was a skinny-ass 2 year old. so the converse is certainly not true.

I now feel like a real Proper Prissy Priscilla for my previous comment. And yet I stand by it. I think the baby measurements are interesting. They really don't predict much, if my brother is any indication. My grandfather pinched his cheeks when he was a baby and told my mom to be careful that he didn't get too fat. 14 years later, my brother was drinking weight-gaining shakes.

PepsiCo announced Friday it is launching new non-carbonated beverages and strengthening its distribution system, as part of its 15-year "total beverage company" strategy. The new beverages include a low-calorie version of Gatorade called G2 and a caffeinated version of Propel enhanced water. G2 is designed to meet the hydration needs of athletes off the field, on a 24/7 basis, according to a PepsiCo press release.

Good reading. I found the Darko FIBA ref tirade translation:
Reporter: Darko, first impressions?
Darko: All right, but let's do it over there.
Reporter: Darko Milicic, congratulations despite the loss. First impressions?
Darko: Nothing, these three big [expletive]heads, these two ... three [expletive for lady parts] have cheated us, that's what happened. This [expletive for lady part], these three [expletive]heads think they are something. I will go and [expletive] their mothers' [expletive for lady parts]--all three of them, that's what I'm gonna [inaudible] ... [expletive for lady parts] all three of them, I'm gonna [expletive] his Italian mother in her [expletive for lady parts], man, that's what I want to say...
Reporter: Darko, calm down a little bit. Your impressions of the game?
Darko: He's a [expletive]head, he should [expletive] my [expletive for man parts], go on ... write that, man ... all three of them, the first one and the second one and the third one ... I don't give a [expletive] about this, that's what I want to say.
Reporter: [inaudible]
Darko: [Expletive for lady parts] ... they don't call anything...he [expletive] in his pants ... I will [expletive] his mother in the mouth, man ... if he has a daughter, I will also [expletive] his daughter.
Reporter: [inaudible]
Darko: [inaudible] ... we are fighting here, I died ... I need an infusion, do you understand...and they cheat us like [expletive for waste]...
Never, ever have I been more proud to say FREE DARKO than I am right now.
