FACTS REGARDING PERMIT:
1) The deadline for permit requests passed in early Feb (*I think).
2)In past, I'd always recieved a notice in the mail (*late Dec/early Jan) regarding permit renewal reminders and forms. When i went to the permit office to appeal in person TWO WEEKS AGO they said this was the first year they decided not to send out reminders (*they always claim to foggy on this subject).
3) They saidd "look into matters" seeing as I've held the permit for 4/5 years but would make no guarentees.
4) Assigned permits are already going out and i have a feeling they'll just wait 'til it's too late and be like "hmmm..too bad."
5) I spoke to a parks guy at Carmine who said park management/policies changed this year and it's been a bitch for everyone himself included. he also said organized harassment and letter writing might work (*e-mail too?).
6) my contact at the Parks dept (*not Carmine St.) is a girl named Melissa. Her work phone # is (212) 408-0234. She's nice but very much a "pass-the-buck"-type of girl. It may be best to go over her head if possible. My past contacts were a guy named Ramone then a girl named Victoria.
7) **My permit # 14350
**NOTE: we've held the Sun 7PM time slot at JJ Walker field for the past five (*4?) years.
9) their adress:

Hopefully, we can overcome this with the help of a word wizard like Dinny and an organized dude like Steve.
Please help. It'd suck to not have softball this year.

Should one of us re-apply for the field (there is an online application) just as a possible placeholder?

"More Than Words" by Extreme. For some reason many people thought that song transcended the usual 80s ballady crap. Those people were wrong.

Just sent a request for the field via email. If one of us has to go down to the parks dept. let me know, I'll try and find some time to voice concerns regarding the field.

everybody hit that web form w/ the permit number .... be polite.
the more i think about it -- no news coverage anywhere of alleged "rule changes" -- the more it sounds like somebody in the nyc system is going freelance, i.e. looking for bribes.

Congrats on the baptism. When I was an early teen I went to church with my friends and took communion because everybody else was, even though I hadn't had my first-communion ceremony, whatever that is, and my "friends" told me I was going to go to hell.
