True, old school Bernie Mac was Harlem raw --but I find those other "kings" rather stale.

In particular, DLHugley cast in Studio 60 was a perfect match. Both the show and comedian were self-satisfied, unfunny and waaay overblown.

side note: unlike Mac's obvious race pandering in the Ocean's flix, I think his work in Bad Santa, Above the Rim and..*gasp*..Booty Call stand out as Bernie at his finest.

Maybe we should sit closer to the stage next time. The Spanish Olympic basketball team made it almost impossible to see the racist comics.

Was sad to hear about Bernie Mac. I liked DL Hughley's routine in 'Kings' about "I wish someone WOULD."


Anyway point being that good comedy is as important as music or acting or any other art that makes you forget yourself for long enough that it matters
