And what is even funnier is that your initial few paragraphs about seeing a therapist sounds almost word for word the same issues I was discussing with my guy a few months ago...everything was and is the same.

It ain't easy realizing that an average life is worth living and I still dream that someday greatness will tap us on the shoulder. I think it's part of growing up with anti-heroes like Kerouac, Bukowski and Hunter Thompson...I was the only kid in middle school reading those books. I think it came back to bite me hard on the ass as I became and adult. I think that's why becoming an adult has been so friggin' hard for me.

For now, I am not a personal friend and I read your blog...I usually can't wait for the next post to come and that's because you're a great writer and a funny guy and you have a point of view that isn't often out there. Keep it up. Don't give up hope. And be comforted by the minor greatness that comes with giving a complete stranger a sense that they are not so alone in all of this craziness.

I love this post, especially "Greatness was not going to call me up out of the blue so we could hang." Walking through NYC sometimes though, it certainly could feel that way.

I will second PoCho Pete's point that I don't actually know you and yet still read your blog. We're a minority, but we're vocal.
