the giants have some kind of d-line.

i thought justin tuck should have got the game mvp ... he played with a wild fury.

this isn't easy to say coming from a 'skins fan who assumed "somebody had to win in the nfc" but the giants really handed one out sunday.

the manning bros. are legit. not a contrived friendship.

I must shamefully admit that I screamed like a little girl several times during Giant drives...and I also take part in the sick satisfaction of handing the Patriots and their fans the biggest L possible...GO NEW YORK!

this jet fan was rooting hard for the g's. hans-i totally agree with your points 3,5 and 8. belichick really laid an egg. since when is a 48 yard fg in a dome a worse bet then 4th and 13 when your offense is being shut down? and how about a running play or two on that last drive to drain some clock? remarkably stupid. harrison is not the only dirtbag on that squad-warren was the most fined player in the nfl for dirty plays, and how about vrabel's legwhip on a guy (rivers) who was playing with a damaged acl? pbdotc-i agree about tuck. i wish the jets had about 3 of those guys.

As a Dallas fan I'm confused by my sudden appreciation for the hated Giants, but goddammmmm was it sweet watching New England wither like that.

Great post, one of the better things I've come across in my rush to read all manner of Superbowl coverage.

It made being in Green Bay and enduring the minus 25 degree weather for 5 hours even more meaningful to me. I was glad that I was there in Green Bay and part of this historic Giants run.

Also good to see that Boston is not the epicenter of the sports world for a while.

Yeah, despite being a Jets fan, I greatly appreciated watching the Giants run. The shots of Peyton looked very genuine and that entire play to Tyree was one of the best I have ever seen for pure effort.

One question - if a defender gets a good hit on somebody, why do they always posture about it - even if they just gave up a big play?

Go Jets - next year!

Ditto on the Giants and you're also on the money about Petty - a somewhat overrated but likable midtempo rocker. American Girl is a classic of sorts.

I fucking hate Boston and every last bit of its small town bullshit. Fuckers.

I'm not a big football fan but i always said the only way i'd be into a Superbowl was if it was the Giants. Great game. That scrable & catch was the single greatest play I've ever seen in a SuperBowl.

Last, did anyone ever find out the rationale on that 4th & 13 call. I didn't understand that in any sense of game logic. Perhaps a broken play?

~wish Petty woulda sung Refugee.

Petty's song selection was all wrong.

rational for 4th and 13=no rational. patriots punt on 4th and 3 from the giant 44, then go on 4th and 13 from the giant 30. hmm....belichick later claimed "that's a 50 yard fg..." actually more like a 47 yard one. i read that this year 4th and 10+ was successful 18% of the time, while fgs of that lenth were successful 55% (not even factoring in dome). just dumb.

after the game, Tyree referred to Harrison as a "dirty cheap-shot artist who's also a heck of a good football player"

Peyton's comments in this week's SI seem to indicate nothing more than a big brother who's been feeling badly for his less successful sibling

the only negative to come out of the Super Bowl win is that Coughlin wil be around for years now - he is one sour old bastard (though he seems positively gay compared to Belichik the joyless "genius")

speaking of gay, how gay was all the lip-synching?

- bjl

You mean "feeling bad."

you can't hold your liquor

no - the word is modifying the verb - he is feeling "badly"

adverb it is, right?

- BJL

"Bad" (adjective), dude, is correct. If he is feeling "badly" (adverb), then he has a problem with his sense of touch. C'mon now.
