Agree re the construction equipment. Having also found myself in similar situations, my reasoning went something like this:

"Drunk driving is bad. But wow this [insert name of mobile construction device here] is really fucking awesome. Let's just start the fucker. Plus I'm sure it's real slow, and drunk driving only applies to cars, right, and not big slow shit like this? What could possibly go wrong?"
