My kid started doing the all-night thing about 6-8 weeks ago, before he was 3 months old. It happens, especially if he gets fed well and gets worn out right up to bedtime.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Congratulations!
Of course, now the trick is for you and Patty to learn how to sleep through the night... The first morning I woke up after having slept soundly from 11:00 until 7:00 or so, I woke up with a vague existential dread, but wasn't certain why. Then I remembered I had a baby -- I'd actually forgotten for a moment! I think the dread was due to the fact that I hadn't checked on Milo for a whole evening. So much could have happened to him during that time! He could have grown up and moved out of the house, for all I knew!
But of course, he hadn't, and was happily sucking on his fingers when I went to check on him moments later.
Happy sleeping babies ROCK.

Honestly, it takes MONTHS to get over the exhaustion! And then when they regress, it KILLS you all over again.
