Gravatar It does seem that things have made a drastic turn. Today Iraqis took out terrorists all by themsleves, before the US could get there. Deaths are down, both military and civilian. Good news.

Gravatar Thanks Debbie! We're winning this war!

Gravatar Yesterday I tried to gather as many of the positives as I could, Bartle Bull's piece included.

Despite the mantra of the left that Iraq is a failure and is separate and apart from the war on radical Islam, success in Iraq is essential to turning the tide against the radical, worldwide jihadist movement,

The lesson of Osama's "victory" at the Lion's Den against the Soviets should tell us that a perceived victory by the hirabists, who have acknowledged that Iraq is a central front in the overall war, will be an even greater clarion call for the "jihad" movement. If we think we are creating more terrorists now (I believe much of it created by propaganda and perception of American lack of will and resolve), it will be even worse if we prove ourselves a paper tiger and leave Iraq on "their terms", rather than our own.

Gravatar Thanks for your comments, Wordsmith. I too think things will be worse if we leave Iraq now.

Gravatar This article is _not_ good news, but should be read. Page 2 particularly. It's a fairly long article.

Gravatar The Grand Ayatollah will not be deterred. He will continue to enrich U-235; he and his zealots will never listen to Western Logic. They have their myth of the returning Madhi.

Churchill said, "You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing, after they've exhausted all the other alternatives".

Further hesitation will be costly. reb
