http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblot...gency-oks- .html

It seems bloggers have succeeded in breaking into the party. CIA, NSA both say treat bloggers as journalists for purposes of access and info dispersal.

DailyKOS, unfortunately, has been part of that process too.

One possible good side effect of the KOSaks is that the left is radicalizing so thoroughly, so quickly and so irrationally, that there's a good chance that whole pile might just radicalize itself into imploding.

Gravatar Hi Grimmy: I just don't think the Kos crowd represents anything near the mainstream. We'll have more Lamont-style candidacies, and these will represent the implosion of which you speak!

Gravatar Sir:

I agree with you %100 about the KOS kiddies not representing main stream. They do represent those who've made the choice to adhere to the enemy, either of wars past or present.

Gravatar donald-i heard somebody a while back (a friend!) say that the election process should just be counted on who won the most votes in the country!! holy crap! and yes it was a democrat. and yes, i kept my mouth shut!! some things arent even worth trying to explain to some people...

Gravatar Welcome back! I agree with your premise about Kos and his ilk. They remind me of little kids who will annoy you to get their way. Their idea of control is to keep repeating something, regardless of its veracity, until they think you are worn down. The Democrat candidates have been worn down and now cater to these extremists. The more times Kos and his ilk proclaim their preeminence the more they believe it themselves. It is up to we adults to not allow them to wear us down.

Gravatar Hi Law and Order Teacher! Well said - an excellent analysis!

Gravatar Libby: That sounds like a reference to the 2000 election. Radicals have not gotten over that yet. Bush to them is and always will be an illegitimate president.

Gravatar Great post, Donald. Radicals on either side do not serve us well.

I was particularly amazed at the statement that Dems hadn't been able to get a majority in congress for decades. What? Only 40 plus years of it until the '94 election. I think this shows the age and experience level of Kos. It's a very young movement and they do have their own version of history. I think a lot of it has to do with the Howard Zinn influence in textbooks, like the one my son's AP American History teacher used last year. His book, well, there isn't enough time for that argument.

Gravatar Thanks Karen: I do think they're inexperienced, but also Moulitsas is drunk with his newfound influence. If he says something enough - like Law and Order Teacher suggests - maybe it'll be accepted as true.

I really loathe these people!

Gravatar Well said, Donald.

And Ms Pelosi did present the party at centrist, as the article said, but I can present a turd as Swiss Army knife.

Delusional, as you yourself said, is the right word.

Gravatar Thanks for dropping by, jimmyb!

Gravatar No, the daily kos guys are the ones that took the howard dean thing , the grass roots sort of union-y democrat thing. Jim tester, JIm Webb. They added some grit to it and took it away from the beltway guys Carville and rahm emmanuel. they've given the dems at least an appearence of being different than they were when they were losers circa 2000-06. It's not a message I happen to go for, but it's easy to sell to people who see no tangible benefit to voting GOP. imean , why WOULD someone vote GOP? immigration? spending? abortion? they weren't priorities in the 6 years they had the run of washington. and most people who support the war are doing it out of general patriotism, not a belief in the mission. that's way gone

Gravatar Let them be deluded. Let them be overconfident. Let them destroy themselves.

They will certainly do so.

Gravatar Yeah, Shoprat, but let's not let down our guard as well! Denounce those suckers, I say!

Gravatar Great points, they are so full of themselves.

Gravatar An excellent rebuttal of the article. On Ford, we were so glad to get him voted out in Tennessee, we didn't really care where he went afterwards.

Gravatar Thanks Spree! They are full of themselves!

Gravatar Hi Debbie: I saw Ford debate Moulitsas on Meet the Press this morning. He's Democratic, but centrist. I like him, though he'd have to switch parties before I'd vot for him. He whipped Moulitsas in the debate in any case - Kos is so full of himself he would barely let Ford speak!

Gravatar Mainstream America is no where near the far left, like the Daily Krap. It is rather funny, how the writer noted the attack on Joseph Lieberman by far leftist, but did not acknowledge that Mr. Lieberman, because of the will of the PEOPLE (Mainstream if you will) was re-elected, and not their far left candidate that was just being controlled by the Puppet Master, known as LMD (Leftist Mental Disease).

Gravatar Wow, the Kos Kidz so influential - their crowning achievement is a pyrric victory in driving Joe Lieberman from the Democratic Party.

Gravatar Personally I don't like the Daily Kos, but they didn't drive Lieberman from the Democratic party

That's totally simplistic thinking and gives the Kos more power than they have

I don't like radicals or zealots of any ilk

What blogging should do is promote dialogues between people like you, Donald and me--but I have been so turned off to political bloggers, I won't debate and will only write about politics when something really upsets me

I wouldn't be worried about the Kos as they don't reflect the mainstream
If I were a Republican i would be very upset about RudyG's front runnership as that almost assures a Democratic win for too many reasons to get into

Gravatar Well, I hate to break up the mutual masturbation society you folks have going on here but I would suggest that if Daily Kos and their ilk do anything to disrupt the corrupt Republican political machine then I'm all for it.

You "loathe them"?. Well OK then Donnie. My son spend six months in Iraq and is going back in November. Until you or your children are prepared to sacrifice as much then your "pro-victory" stance is just so much academic bullshit.

Gravatar Interesting comments, Pia! Thanks for visiting. I hope you'll at least debate politics a little when you come over here!

Gravatar Jimbo: You're veering over into the "chicken hawk" attack mode. You don't want to go there - you don't know anything about me, my family, or our service to country.

Gravatar hiya Don..u know how I feel bout the good ole Koslings..delusional and severely self loathing!..great read!

Gravatar Pia,
I'm glad you think that's simplistic thinking; it is - but it's not my argument, it's Kos's own argument.

Gravatar Hi Angel: Thanks for visting!

Gravatar Hey Angevin! Hope you had a nice trip to the beach!

Gravatar I'm always a little amused when leftist use the argument "My kid is serving, and you right wingers don't sacrifice at all". While it sounds cute, it's unfounded and untrue, in fact, people from a conservative household are more likely to serve in the military than a leftist household, which would normally hold Pacifist ideals. Anyone who serves gets my respect, but just because they served, does not mean their parents are much to speak of, case and point, Cindy Sheehan.

Gravatar The Kos kids: the only people that would ever make me consider voting Republican.

Gravatar Hi Robert: The argument is a "chicken hawk" slur in any case. Liberals like that can never focus on the issue at hand, but rather just attack you with some false sense of moral superiority. Notice, again, that Jimbo's comment is essentially anonymous - there's no homepage to check, so he's just a pissed off drive by ranter.

Gravatar Hi Geek: I hope the Kos crowd isn't the only thing that makes you want to vote that way, but they are a major impetus.

Gravatar Dr. Douglas,

I would never think of voting for a Democrat. Ever. However, given my own jaded view of the Right as I see it, I'm hard pressed to support it (unless I'm convinced mainstream conservatism and libertarianism have enough common ground to make it worth the while - I'm unconvinced).

I have probably alluded to reasons in pieces and passages of my blog posts but for me to fully explain why would probably require a cogent analysis.

Gravatar Hi Geek: Oh, I know why. No need for a longer analysis. I just note that if you had to choose parties, to make your vote meaningful, the GOP is your best bet.

Gravatar Snake Hunters Sez,

A worthy summary! reb

Gravatar Dr. Douglas,

Understood and agreed upon. Thanks.

Gravatar Nice post. I really hope that sites like the DK continue this head swelling ego trip. At some point it is going to bite them in the asinine. Hopefully on the first Tuesday in November 2008.

This posturing and pandering by both the DK and the leading democrats is only going to hurt them in the long term. More government control and higher taxes is not what most Americans want.

Gravatar One thing that stood out in that video-link to the Kos convention was the interviewing of attendees.

One interviewee, after proclaiming that FOX is a Republican propaganda network, was asked for examples. He could cite none, admitting that he has never watched FOX and, for that matter, doesn't own a television.

Then there was the woman who is tired of the Bush Administration depriving her of her civil liberties. When asked to cite which civil liberties she is being deprived of, she couldn't name any. After some fidgeting, her companion allowed lamely that he knew a few people who had been "turned away at airports".

These are prime examples of the rank & file liberals who frequent sites like KOS. Empty-headed walking bumper stickers of whom any communist country's propaganda machine would be proud.

Gravatar Great comments, Seth: "Empty-headed walking bumper stickers" - I've got to remember that one!

Thanks for visiting!

Gravatar "narcissism and megalomania" ... just like what you and your ilk used to proclaim loudly after your bogus POTUS took office. But now the shoe of public opinion is on the other foot, and you assholes are squealing like stuck pigs. You deserve it.

Gravatar Bogus how knucklehead? Who went to court to change election laws during an election?

It sure wasn't that Bogus President now was it? No, it was your pal the Goracle who tried to back door his way to the White House. Hell the Goracle couldn't even win his home state or Clinton's.

Try reading real history instead of that PC Horsecrap that passes for textbooks.

Gravatar NO MR. DOUGLAS. I DO NOT POST WHATEVER COMMENT YOU HAVE ACCUSED ME OF, BUT SINCE YOU ATTACKED MY E-MAIL BOX IN KAMIKAZE STYLE, HERE IS MY RIPOSTE:

“I agree with your premise about Kos and his ilk” (Law and Order Teacher)
“Hi Law and Order Teacher! Well said - an excellent analysis!” (Donald Douglas)

GEE, I MISSED THE ANALYSIS. WHERE’S THE BEEF, MR. DOUGLAS?

“Moulitsas is drunk with his newfound influence. I really loathe these people!” (Donald Douglas)

FOR SOMEONE WHO USES THE KEYWORD “LIBERAL IRRATIONALISM,” I AM LOOKING FOR THE RATIONAL ARGUMENT TO JUSTIFY THE PHRASE, “I REALLY LOATHE THESE PEOPLE.” DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE ACCUSED OF HARBORING AN “IRRATIONAL” PREJUDICE? PLEASE, MR. DOUGLAS, MORE EVIDENCE AND LESS DISJUNCTIVE LOGIC.

“Let them be deluded. Let them be overconfident. Let them destroy themselves” (Shoprat)
“Yeah, Shoprat, but let's not let down our guard as well! Denounce those suckers, I say!” (Donald Douglas)

OH, MR. DOUGLAS, I AM SO IMPRESSED. ARGUMENTUM AD POPULUM (I.E., THE “FALSE CONSENSUS EFFECT” IN CASE YOU DON’T KNOW). REALLY, MR. DOUGLAS, IS THAT HOW YOU TEACH YOUR STUDENTS? DO YOU “ACE” THOSE STUDENTS WHO MIRROR YOUR POLITICS AND FLUNK THOSE WHO DON’T?

“Great points, they are so full of themselves” (spree)
“Thanks Spree! They are full of themselves!” (Donald Douglas)

(YAWN! MR. DOUGLAS, THIS IS GETTING OLD AND REPETITIVE. AND OH SO BORING.)

“My son spend six months in Iraq and is going back in November. Until you or your children are prepared to sacrifice as much then your "pro-victory" stance is just so much academic bullshit” (Jimbo)
“Jimbo: You're veering over into the "chicken hawk" attack mode … you don't know anything about me, my family, or our service to country” (Donald Douglas)

WELL, WE’RE WAITING, MR. DOUGLAS. WHAT SACRIFICES HAVE YOU OR YOUR FAMILY MADE IN SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY? DON’T HIDE BEHIND ERRORS OF OMISSION. ENLIGHTEN US.

“I'm always a little amused when leftist sic] use the argument "My kid is serving, and you right wingers don't sacrifice at all". While it sounds cute, it's unfounded and untrue, in fact, people from a conservative household are more likely to serve in the military than a leftist household, which would normally hold Pacifist ideals” (Robert Bayn)
“Hi Robert: The argument is a "chicken hawk" slur in any case. Liberals like that can never focus on the issue at hand, but rather just attack you with some false sense of moral superiority. Notice, again, that Jimbo's comment is essentially anonymous - there's no homepage to check, so he's just a pissed off drive by ranter” (Donald Douglas).

WRONG, MR. BAYNE. I AM A LIBERAL, A DEMOCRAT, AND A LOYAL AMERICAN CITIZEN WHOSE KID IS SERVING IN IRAQ (A CAPTAIN IN THE U.S. ARMY AND CURRENTLY ON HER THIRD DEPLOYMENT). YOUR WILD AND INCORRECT ASSERTION OFFENDS ME. GET A LIFE!

WRONG, MR. DOUGLAS. YOUR PARTISAN IDEOLOGY HAS NO ROOM TO HONOR THE SACRIFICES OF

Gravatar ... THOSE FAMILIES WHO JUST HAPPEN TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE AISLE. YOU AND YOUR READERS ARE LITTLE MORE THAN SELF-CONGRATULATING SYCOPHANTS.

“These are prime examples of the rank & file liberals who frequent sites like KOS. Empty-headed walking bumper stickers of whom any communist country's propaganda machine would be proud” (Seth)

“Great comments, Seth: "Empty-headed walking bumper stickers" - I've got to remember that one … “ (Donald Douglas).

GREAT COMMENTS. GREAT ARGUMENTS. I AM OVERWHELMED WITH SCHOLARSHIP AND CONVINCING ARGUMENTS. READ PAST THE SNARK, MR. DOUGLAS. THERE IS NOTHING MEMORABLE NOR WORTH REMEMBERING ABOUT YOUR BLOG, MR. DOUGLAS. YOU ARE AN EMPTY VESSEL.

Gravatar House,
If you want us to actually read what you're so furiously typing here's acouple of pointers for ya...

A. Lay off the CAPS LOCK,instead try using the bold function that haloscan so nicely provided...

B. Go read the whole chickenhawk response. (It's also a great book) I pay taxes and I vote, therefore I can comment, complain or otherwise voice my opinion on military affairs. Some of us are too old to serve in the military. Simply because your child serves does not automatically give you the high ground in a debate involving the military.

This is still the USA and despite what you on the left think, the first amendment still applies to those on the right.

C. Bring facts to back up your comments and stick to issues, discussions get farther that way.
