Amen, from another 1975 grad. Amazing to think about it now, but almost all the music you listed was played on our FM station in central Wisconsin at the time. We weren't exactly at the cultural center of the universe, but free-form radio -- especially after 10 p.m. -- really existed for us. I suspect Gil Scott-Heron and Rahsaan Roland Kirk are no longer on the playlist at that station.

What a great idea! Nice to see eras normally neglected on blogs get some in depth looks.
Long time reader and fan here, by the way.

You nailed it...'75 was rockin'. Might I add a few more titles to your list? Elton John's Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy (his best, in my eyes), Heart's Dreamboat Annie and Boston's debut album. Oh, and BTO's Not Fragile (though I think it was released late in '74).
I eagerly await your next post.

'75 does really create a great list. Kudos for Tale Spinnin', Alphonso Johnson's heyday with Weather Report.
Let me add "Blues For Allah", the only Grateful Dead outting I ever liked.

I spent '75 walkin' down a dusty road in the highlands of Guatemala, so I always wondered what songs were worth listening to that year. As Steely Dan might say.."Any World That I'm Welcome To..Is Better Than the One I come From"
