Gravatar I, too, like the anthology idea. It will give new viewers an introduction to our individual sites as well as provide some diverse content for the new blog.
(Jane, darlin', I am still in transit and won't be worth much for a week or so. Would you mind just lifting my alternative medicine blog entry and putting it on midlifebloggers for me? Thanks. I get my act together shortly.)

Gravatar I love what you're doing. But what about those of us who are jokester scholars? And isn't it true that mid-life brings so many different things to so many different people? We are not just in mid-life, but we also have just plain women issues, mothering issues, parent issues, marital and divorce issues etc. I would love to see a little bit of everything on the site - from the light hearted to the serious. Just my opinion ....

Gravatar ms.meta: will do...and happy travelling

twentyfouratheart: yes, absolutely, inclusion is crucial. I am myself a scholar jokester or vice versa, so much gets filtered through those lenses for me. Actually, midlife is just the filter through which we will look at all topics that are relevant to us as women; it's not a boundary.

Gravatar I am always happy to add one more place to write ...

Gravatar totally agree with twentyfouratheart. what i love about these midlifebloggers is their mature perspective on issues of parenting, marriage, etc. we should talk about all of what pertains to our lives.

Gravatar Anthology is a great term and I think an apt description of what this can be.
It's my own little humble opinion that you should do the editor thing only in that you facilitate what gets posted, and pick a deadline if need be. I think letting each person submit a post they feel is a good piece of writing is probably better than suggesting or assigning topics or ideas, unless someone asks for that type of steering/help. Maybe I'm no good at writing X, but I just did a post I'm pretty proud of about Y. Want to see it? That kind of thing.
Most definitely, if someone has a topic they feel strongly about, I think they should share that (and hopefully share any posts they've already written about it that could be posted on MLB).
I would hope anyone involved could handle all flavors and types of bloggers...the jokesters, politicos, etc. Everyone will have those writers they will prefer over others. That's just the way life and reading are. Let's just hope everyone can be tolerant when realizing their favorite writer isn't the one posting this week.
I commend you for taking this on. A great project, and you will do a fine job!
(Oh. My. God. What a blabber! I have gone on and on here. Sorry. Just had a whole bunch of thoughts about this and wanted to tell you!)

Gravatar carella: that is exactly how I'd like it to work...but SOMEONE has to get the ball rolling...AHEM!!!!

Gravatar Wow! "MLB". We've already been acronymized! Look out mostpopularwebsite.com, here come the wearers of reading glasses and low heels!

How about this for a motto: "We chew our food 40 times before swallowing so you don't have to."

Just Kidding. Hey, can I have a column called Just Kidding? Not to be confused with Kristen Wiig (who I've decided is just about the best female to ever happen to SNL) who played a character named Judy Grimes who was repeatedly "Just Kidding" last week on the Weekend Update segment.

_END of transmission_ ..... beep!

Gravatar margaret: darlin', you can have anything you want. just do it!
