Gravatar I'm in.

Gravatar He needs to dump whatever DC media consultants he is using and go for more of a Paul Wellstone or even Jesse Ventura-type insurgent campaign. Even though he is well-known that isn't a guarantee of success in Minnesota, which routinely has the highest rate of voting in the nation and is not as likely to vote ignorantly for a name that they've heard before.

This race is very important if only for the fact that Norm Coleman is one of the sleaziest guys in politics today(and that is pretty hard to do). He used to be a Democrat that switched to Republican when the political winds changed and possesses no conscience or values other than what will get him elected. Coleman and Romney would get along real well and probably represent the sort of apocalypse ticket that Bush/Cheney have tried to be but so far have failed to fully deliver.

Gravatar I don't think Al is too out of touch to use a DC firm for his campaign. The guy has been everywhere in Minnesota since he moved back from NYC. He has a lot of support here, not just name recognition. See if you can find his first message when he announced his run.

Al Frankin has very Minnesota values. He loks like a good option if only to see him give speeches in the Senate.

Gravatar He's smarter, he's better, and gosh darn it, people will like him.

I have been hoping he would do this for a very long time.

Gravatar As the only Minnesotan in your blogroll, I'd like to remind your readers that Mike Ciresi is also running. Mike nailed the tobacco industry for $6 billion, beat Union Carbide while representing the victims of the Bhopal disaster, and has ALWAYS been against the Iraq War, unlike Al who was initially for giving Bush a free hand.

Al is also using Richard Viguerie style mass mailings to inflate his fundraising totals (while paying out through the nose for those mailings).

But if you don't care for Mike Ciresi, Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer, Paul Wellstone's foreign policy advisor, is also running, and despite being a long shot, says all the right (er, left) things.

Gravatar As a Minnesotan, I have to add that while Mike Ceresi is a reasonable candidate he is as dull as dirt. His experience as a lawyer is quite impressive and his history with the party is as well. I'm not very familiar with the other fellow running. We Minnesotans do have a wealth of quality candidates for Senator to run against Norm "the worm" Coleman.

(Joke as Norm turned from Democrat to Republican, and well he looks kind of wormlike.)

I feel that Al Frankin would be the best choice for Minnesota Senator. He would work well with Senator Amy Klobuchar. I'll be caucusing for Obama and Farnklin... but hope that everyone comes out and has their voices heard.

Gravatar the teacher ad was really the cutest thing ever!
