Gravatar Good thread, MaggieJochild.

The right stuff.

Gravatar I have kind of a dumb question... what is the cartoon graphic at the top of the GNB posts when someone passes away?

Gravatar How beautiful it is that she was able to cap off all those years of fighting, and loving with her partner, with a marriage?

Sad that she has passed, but good that she lived to see that day.

Gravatar I'm sorry to hear this. I'm very glad she got to marry though. Finally.

Gravatar What a history of this woman, thanks for sharing.

This couple escaped my experiences when I was in broadcasting on The Peninsula (read Teh City) from '76 - 84, and so, thanks Maggie, for bringing them to my top of mind.

I learnt a lot in them times and climes . . .

What a life . . . what a couple. And what achievements on the part of them both.

What a loss of Del Martin . . . but what a life!

Wishing her partner well . . . it's gotta hurt . . .

Gone festing.

Best to all . . .

Gravatar Seeing that we all have to die sometime, I'm sure she dies happy, and there is nothing more a soul can aspire to.

RIP

Mike: the graphic is a drawing of Death, as imagined by Neil Gaiman. I don't know who the specific artist[s] is/are.

She is sister to Dream, aka The Sandman. I can't recommend the SANDMAN graphic novels highly enough. They come from the "Vertigo" imprint of DC Comics. Death also has at least one trade paperback of her own: "DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING", from the same publisher.

Gravatar Im in the odd position of agreeing with Monster from Id...at least read death, and the wake...amzing stuff, Gamin trancended his medium (most of the vertigo guys did back then to be honest). while they where releised as monthly serials at first (many great works where ...dracula anyone) teh sandman series truly are graphic NOVLES.

its bitter sweat to see her pass...you get the feelign that she was holding on for this time, she finaly got what she had spent her life fighting for and decided it was tiem to move on.
