My first trip to the Group News Blog was via a link on the day after Obama won the Iowa primary. I clicked my way to Pride and Palpitations. That story had the courage to speak of the unspeakable dread so many of us experienced that night Obama gave his magnificent speech.
Since that day I’ve been a regular reader and lurker, not much of a commenter. I want you all to know how very much I enjoy the insight and intelligence and grace - and yes, the laughs and occasional snark - here.
I appreciate all that you are doing and my PayPal donation today is but a small contribution to your work; maybe I can do more next time around. Now go get 'em at the DNC in Denver next month!

dks, it's not really "still having to." We planned right up front to rattle the cup through the 15th. So this is normal, planned cup-rattling, not any kind of statement that things have gone badly and the time needed to be extended.
Those of you who've done your part -- or are clear that you are in no position to -- are very much adored. You are also free to disregard any further appeals over the next four days. It's just like PBS pledge week: give or not, you still have to sit through the pledge breaks anyway until the week's over, and life goes back to normal.
It'll be over soon, though probably not soon enough for any of us.
