As my Beloved said to me, "Dodd is the only presidential candidate who's truly presidential."

Good for him. He's a big improvement over the alleged leaders in the party.

Good for Dodd. It's nice to see that a few genuine Democrats remain, even if they're far too outnumbered by the pimps, whores, crooks and scum.
Prior to popping by here this morning, I'd been reading about this over at Digby's and Firedoglake. Harry Reid ain't exactly covering himself with Glory right now.

The Democratic "leadership" are Bush's biggest enablers.

Reid can cover himself with string cheese and Bacon Bits and throw himself into a pit of rabid wolverines for all the respect I have for him right now.
Dodd has shown more spine and more testicular fortitude than many of the Senate members.

We should organize a day to raise money for Dodd. That has worked well for Ron Paul (and, I wonder, what is his statement on this ?). The Paulites call it a "Tea Party." Maybe we could call it "Christmas for the Constitution" or something similar.
(And, I am not for Dodd, at least not yet, but I do believe in supporting good works.)

It's funny how Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden talk a big game, but when actual leadership is required on actual votes in their actual current jobs they are nowhere to be seen.
Chris Dodd filibusters a bill that would allow the President of the United States to exercise dictatorial rule. Dennis Kucinich introduces a highly privileged resolution on the House floor introducing articles of impeachment against the Vice President for Cheney's very transparent criminal activity. And both of them are barely registering in the polls. The Des Moines Register even kicks Kucinich out of the last primary debate cause he doesn't meet their very arbitrary rules(a fulltime paid staffer specifically for Iowa and renting out a Iowa storefront to act as campaign HQ).
This says something not only about this country, but the state of this political party. Kos is running smears almost every week against Kucinich. His flirtation of support for Dodd was hampered by an appearance of Dodd on the Imus program. The Democratic Party and much of the so-called Progressive blogosphere appears to be much more comfortable with rewarding or punishing for talking rather than for doing or not doing.
I live in Illinois and I can tell you firsthand that Obama's office isn't responsive at all, especially when compared to our other US Senator Dick Durbin. He is a Senator running for President but he is a Senator first. And in the Senate chamber he and Hillary can really lead on the issues they profess to care so much about. And they don't. And they are still winning. Why?

Loving this. Loving it. This is what leadership looks like. I cannot fathom why Obama, Clinton, and Biden didn't rush back to DC to back this effort up. It's enough to get me over Dodd's verbal tic of saying "here" at inappropriate moments.
