"They is all gonna go away."
No, they're not.
If you've been reading the comments on this very blog - especially after Hillary's concession and Obama's cave-in on FISA - then you're aware that the capacity for creation of a circular firing squad is still very much alive and well on the left.
HUMANS ARE NOT RATIONAL ACTORS.
Whack their hopes and dreams upside the head with a 2x4 and quite a few are going to go efficiently and publicly insane.
They will, for instance, break ranks and "protest vote" for McCain. This year. Like they have voted for Ralph Nader in years past.
We had a near-miss with Ron Paul up until a few weeks ago. We may all consider ourselves lucky that he didn't decide to run as an indy.
Because Barack Obama did exactly what I figured he'd do on FISA. He caved. Same as he's caved to Likud front groups like AIPAC.
WE STILL HAVE NO CHOICE but to vote for him. For reasons which I really should not need to elaborate here.
Clearly, we need to worry not only about the GOP, but about our own loony fringe.
As long as things like this are possible, things like George Wallace are possible too. And they will remain so for as long as human beings are basically insane. Which will be for as long as our genotype hard-wires us for madness.

The White House won't open an email??
The characterization is apt - we're dealing with a petulant child. Thank Cthulhu he'll be out of office come January.

So...what happened to the post that followed this one?
"The Gap" by The Smallest Crock?
What, a bit too much sentiment and good-naturedness for this site?
Meet in the middle. Look at your own anger and think about what might really be going on. And be patient with newer netroots types. Be understanding that some of what fuels cultural creatives is the same optimism and hope that fueled great change in the 60's and 70's. That hope helped end the Vietnam war, and pass the civil rights legislation. No, what happened in the '60's and '70's is a bunch of unwashed hippies created a liberal drug culture that's still ruining our youth; identity politics took hold and fractured our "All-American" culture; sex became free and open, helping spread AIDS and Herpes (what, 30% of New Yorkers have the hyerps?) and of course the leftist politics that's draining this country of it's pride and diminishing the morals (and the real religious nature) of our peoples. TUCC is not a church. You know that.
Love us some unwashed hippies, don'tcha know?
(Oh. and, it's nutroots.)
OT, but did you see the latest copy of US magazine?

No, what happened in the '60's and '70's...bla, bla, bla...unwashed hippies...bla, bla,bla...sex became free and open...
serr8d
This is it, right? This is the basis for all the conservative hatred of the left for the past 40 years; the dirty fvcking hippies were fvcking, and for free! Poor little bowel movement conservatives; even when they co-opted Beatle haircuts, sideburns, granny glasses, love beads, tie-died shirts, paisley print bell bottoms, and tire-track sandals, they still couldn’t get laid. That’s why they hated some Big Dog, even back then, ‘cuz he could talk all the girls out of their panties. That’s what they hated most; the DFHs didn’t have to work hard at getting laid, while the bowel movement conservatives would stammer and sweat and, well, have a bowel movement anytime they were around girls. Yeah, those hippie chicks, with their hip huggers and no bras and their free love for thee; Rosy Palm and her five sisters for me.
...and of course the leftist politics that's draining this country of it's pride and diminishing the morals...
As opposed to draining this country of its blood and treasure by lying us into an immoral war, right?
Love us some unwashed hippies, don'tcha know?
Drop that *unwashed* crap. That’s a lie. Hippies were the first to conserve resources and energy by showering together (another way to get hippie chicks out of their panties).
OT, but did you see the latest copy of US magazine?
Sorry pal. Ain’t bitin’ on that one.

".. the volatile mix of evil, incompetence and deliberate ignorance."
An excellent 8 word description of our troll-in-residence "serr8d". Albeit one that errs on the side of kindness.
There are a few Republicans left who can command a certain amount of respect from me.
But serr8d? Easy one. He needs to be kept away from sharp objects, power lines, and other hazards to the lives of small spoiled children.
By somebody else. Because I personally think he's an oxygen waster. If he catches fire, I won't piss on him.

our resident troll is going on and on about a post I was still editing which I accidentally pushed publish on for about 30 secs.
What I find funny is that he is soooo obsessed with the gnb that he not only noticed that post but cut pasted and wrote about it before it was posted. wow. that is dedication. I am flattered, thanks for reading what I write so closely and caring so deeply about my work. I really appreciate your deep thinking and reasoned considered discussion (ranting) about a post I had not officially even finished yet. (needed to spell check as I am a bad speller)
good to know that serr8ed is such a committed and loyal fan of my work.
