I dunno but it really looks like Sadr's coalition fractured into two or three parts after he announced another 6 month ceasefire. Either way I doubt that the relative calm will last that long and violence will become more prevalent as the Shi'a Arab groups attempt to consolidate their gains from the ethnic cleansing that occurred in Baghdad early last year and in late 2006.
Five years in the sandbox, with a glimmer of hope of the end of the occupation on the horizon, and the principal political units in Iraq will certainly attempt to bloody the US on the way out. Oh the US will give the Iraqi government a sat phone to call in air strikes but in the end it won't matter that much. It will be interesting to see if the Saudis rumble their expensive lobby-made MBTs(M1A2s this time) up to Iraq to give the Sunni Arabs help. I would think that more than a few Baathists would accept it with reservation but in the end this all just hypothetical.
Just more misery for a country that needs to be done with it.
