What bugs the hell out of me is that the national media is doing all they can to bury the story. I've been keeping a close eye on some of the news websites, and if they mention it at all, they give Rudy's spin the top billing.
I'm just worried they're going to bury and excuse it just like they work so hard to bury and excuse all of Bush's scandals.
How come, with all this great stuff you and others have posted about this self important prick... I still hear people saying that they think he would be a good president? Are people just delusional or stupid? (maybe I don't want the answer to that)

Remember "Troopergate"? That was a central part of the vast right-wing conspiracy to get the Clintons. Richard Mellon Scaife funded the Arkansas Project to make shit up about Bill and Hillary. One of those stories to come out of the VRWC's efforts was that Bill used state troopers to help him when having affairs.
David Brock, back when he was a paid right-winger, wrote the Troopergate article. He later disavowed what he had written and apologized in the Wash Post to the Clintons for the lies he printed. The troopers quoted in the article also came out and said that the article was full of lies.
So if you see or hear wingnuts defending Rudy and saying "Clinton did it too" you know that they are peddling some long-ago discredited bullshit.
But here's what should be done. Someone should start digging up all the quotes from the right-wingers when they were foaming at the mouth with righteous indignation at the thought that Bill was using troopers to help him cheat. And then those people should be made to choke on their quotes and they should be asked about Rudy's NYPD taxi service.
Just saying.
I can hardly wait for the next installment of "Driving Miz Rudy".

I don't think the national press is ignoring the Rudy mess, exactly. The fact that it's happening in New York, the largest media market in the country, makes that impossible. They're waiting. And Rupert Murdoch's empire is trying to tamp things down, which doesn't help.
But this guy is comedy gold. How can the media resist? He's a veritable cornucopia of sex, lies, and (God willing) videotape.
