Gravatar fighting car trouble in 100°+ heat. not my favorite thing to do. it's looking like a trip into town for a new battery is in order.

rats.

Gravatar Is your mechanic a pony?

Gravatar ooohh root canals really do suck
one was more than enough.

mondays do suck
epsecially when it rained most of the weekend.

Gravatar Feel better soon, Jesse.

Gravatar Today is teh suck, but tomorrow will be teh Super Suck. Only good thing tomorrow is that I have my CSA pickup (Jesse, keep an eye out for that aritcle--going home to write it in a few).

Gravatar Yeah, but when you have been in the completely unhinging pain for a while, isn't it amazing how GOOD simply being in normal, every day, not gonna go suck on the exhaust pipe anymore pain can feel?? Just knowing you are on the other side of that hill... Ahhh...

Gravatar Got one, maybe two more root canals in my immediate future. (Dental insurance expires in August, when Evan's MBA is done and his grad school policy ends.)

I've had three so far. You're right: the after isn't nearly so bad as the before... well, except for the last one, which was abscessed all the way back up to my ear and had to be done twice because they didn't twig onto the fact that there was a fourth root on that tooth. Major mess, pus, pain, drugs. Got another shiny gold tooth to show for it, though.

But my dentist, the very smart and very South African Dr. Liebenberg, is a master with the laughing gas -- so I watched Star Trek on the ceiling-mounted TV, and sort of drifted off into hyperspace. Who cares?

More root canals, more laughing gas, more codeine. It's all good.

Gravatar My tooth extraction went very well today, too. (Bone recession makes tooth unsustainable, bonegraft was done, implant coming in about 3 months. Glad we did this before any infections set in.)

They had on an IV sedation that sent me off into a gold-white place, and then they said, "Opem your eyes!! We're done!" And I remember nothing of the procedure. Mom drove me home and I slept in the recliner, feeling much better now, pain is subdued.

Gravatar But your Monday meme was upheld, when I first saw this over at TRex's place:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ st...t_b_107236.html

... Steve Rosenbaum is of the opinion that McCain will NOT be the Republican nominee.

The reasons are simple. He can't win. Now that Obama is the presumptive Democratic nominee -- the polls all show that McCain's pro-war stance and Bush endorsement make him a lost cause in November. That combined with soft stand on litmus test conservative issues make him an unpopular candidate among the base. I know some Democrats that think the Republicans are planning to let McCain lose and 'sit this one out' so that they can hang the democrats with a bad economy and a war that is a morass. But that just isn't how they play. They play to win every hand -- think about 2000 with a popular Democratic president and good economy and a solid VP running for president. Why did they put up Bush? And why did they fight so hard? Because, you don't ever throw a game. And they're not going to throw this one.

McCain won't be the nominee.

What do y'all think?

a fun bit of waste of time...
expresses my monday feelings.

Gravatar The dental work I needed done today was a much less harrowing affair. A piece of my rearmost lower-left molar chipped off ten days ago, and now there's a funny-feeling lump of filling where there was a rather substantial crater for the past ten days. One thing I noticed is that after getting filling work done, your mouth is more sensitive to bad tastes and your stomach is more sensitive for the remainder of the day.

Gravatar What's up with GNB and dental work?

Gravatar "Goodly." I think the word you are looking for is "goodly." As in "the root canal went goodly."

Gravatar Monday - 3 hours sleep, two class assignements due/one complete 4 am. Sleep till 7am, ride scooter to work.... wif skirt flying around. Windy and 82degress at 9am. Work on 4 page paper due by 5pm and do work work....no breakfast... 92 in non-ac office. Sinus swelling, eyes squinty, no lunch... .paper done. More fun scooter riding home....86degrees.... 96 in non-ac house. No food. Spider nation movement detected. Two hairy black jumper spiders neutralized on ceiling scouting detail. Left one carcas as a warning for future scouting expeditions. No food. One beer. Tastes awful. New class assignement begun.

Then, I saw the moooooon...... Awwwwwwooooooooo!

Pretty damn good MONDAY after all!

Gravatar Turns out root canals have a bad rap as the scary monster under the bed of dentistry.

Oh, yeah. I've had one root canal, and it didn't hurt at all -- not during, and not after.

But, man, the pain of the abscess before the root canal -- ohmigod! A root canal is sweet, blessed relief.

Gravatar My Monday went by swimmingly except for a migraine brought on by insufficient sleep, eyestrain and the rather odd season final ep. of Battlestar Galactica. I went directly home from work that night and was sound asleep before 8 PM.

Well-refreshed today, and out of bed ready to wrassle alligators.

Gravatar Congrats on getting the root canal DONE!

I've NEVER been there. But my partner has. She's a cancer survivor (major, major "stem-to-stern" surgery, 3 times) and has a high threshold for pain. But the pre-root canal stage had her pacing with pain.

The good news? The next day (after the pain started) her dentist saw her at two, and was at the endodontist at 3 PM, and was home by 4:30.

She has golden dental and health insurance, which is why she was treated sooooo quickly. But before she was treated??? I was quite worried.

Feel better.

Gravatar new babay not sleeping...regression testign report generator...mondays suck.

Gravatar I have a chronically-ill online friend on public assistance who is dealing with some serious dental issues in addition to other things.

Reading a post such as this one makes me realize just how much we have become the goddamn Ferengi. A society of self-deluded, good-for-nothing, screaming spoiled babies. (Note how in addition to being victimized by identity-fraud from some narcissistic criminal, she has to deal with it by paying for something called "credit monitoring". WTF???) Yes, I'm still feeling very pissy.

Gravatar And lest anyone think I'm being a pissy futhermucker just for the sake of being a pissy futhermucker:

When I'm this pissed off, there's usually a pretty damn good reason for it.
