Do the math: the oil they'll get from Alaskan drilling will amount to FIVE PERCENT of America's projected oil needs by the time it's completed. Anyone that thinks this is a magic bullet needs to put down the crack-pipe. The net impact on oil prices will be roughly zero.
You can get way better results from reducing demand via efficiency & conservation.

OTD, you crack me up. My car gets 40+ highway mpg which is pretty hard to beat. Living just outside of DC, there is hardly a need for a Canyonero with the metro and all. Oh, and the bears shall live on....
