Sherry, wow, how did you convince a doc to do that when you were 28?

Jen, I had a tubal in '92 and it involved one incision in my navel and they went in vaginally for the rest. You can't even see the scar in the navel. Talk to your OB/GYN again about this... the recovery period is about four hours post-op, then you go home after you pee and can keep liquids down. You DO need somebody to drive you home (hopefully not the same driver you described in a prev. msg).
that being said, when MY lady bit issues hit in 06, it involved pinpoint uterine cancers, fibroids and just for the sheer fuck of it, a couple of ovarian cysts the size of peas. Not fun. Had the whole megillah taken out, and no problems since. But, the recovery rate for a full hystie is WEEKS.
Regardless of what you have done, get your hiney over to hystersisters.com and read up on all the latest (and not just necessarily hysties).
Good luck Jen!

back to pesto:
My main course for a lovely intimate dinner for 2 last week was fresh-picked French string beans (cook in oil & a little water) tossed in pesto.
I'm sure other veg are similarly improved by pesto.
yum.
prayers for your plumbing.

Fridge Guy from the one place that my LL will not gripe about paying for showed up; he thought it was an air leak in the door gaskets so he took the doors of, re-aligned them, and re-sealed the gaskets. Hopefully that'll do it; in the meantime my fridge is taped shut to apply pressure to the seal. I'll know by tomorrow if that's what needed to be done...meh.

pesto is also a delightful accent on a grilled steak or chops.
use the blackening rub here
flash grill, put into a blob of pesto, and crumble some bleu cheese. . ..
mmmm.

I'm thinking about one of these, on the recommendation of a fellow farmers market lover.

bacto...ctobasvics.html
She uses a similar (and more expensive) device to process the tomatoes, then freezes the puree in ziplock bags. Says the tomato flavor is better if it's not cooked until you're ready to make sauce.

I cannot, for the life of me, undestand why the US doesn't have universal health care. Both my dad and I would be, literally, dead without it.

My fav use for pesto is in soup. Once it gets nippy out, I usually make minestrone pretty regularly. At the very end, after all the veggies and beans and kale etc are close to done, i add 2-3 spoonfuls of pesto. Really makes the broth taste way better, eliminates need for adding salt.

As a basil grower I just pick it as needed, then make a huge heap of pesto at frost time.
BUt you can keep it a few days almost as good as new if you treat it like cut flowers. Make a fresh cut at the stem end, stick in water. IN fridge if possible but even without it helps.
This works for most cut herbs and even broccoli!
