Gravatar Does the 5 include the one he crashed on his first assignment in Pensacola? That was right after he graduated 3rd or 4th from the bottom of his class and became playboy mccain there at the beach. We need another frat boy, eh?

Gravatar McCain is also fucking nuts. And older then scientology. And he calls his wife bad humiliating names. And he surrounds himself with corrupt morons. And he is dumber then a rock. And he's an elitist who jets about between his eight estates. And he divorced his wife when she had cancer to marry rich.

On the plus side he is aware of the internet and quite capable of understand the way it shapes the economy, even if he hasn't used a computer. You don't need to have used a computer to understand how they shape the economy. So he's at least solid there.

Gravatar so does crashing more aircraft than aWol make him more or less qualified?
and then there's the whole denouncing America since obviously torture gets such great results

Gravatar John McCain is aware of all internet tra...

VRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW

CRASH!!!!!!!!

Gravatar Obama's reaction to Wes Clarke's opinions is very disappointing. More and more he reminds me of Clinton in '92.

Gravatar Well duh.

Somebody should get Markos and the rest brown paper bags to breath into.

Fucking short attention span theater.

They want to see Obama banging away like a git playing sloppy eight ball on a bar table. No patience for a 3-cushion master putting all three balls in motion with a wicked masse' stroke, running the cueball the length of the table and oh so gently kissing the second target ball to score.

Anyone that thinks Clark was freelancing should stick to bumper pool. He just made his bones.

Gravatar Uh... What did you say? In English, please.

Gravatar Hubris Sonic,

you are way too kind to Mr. McCain.

People check out this link. This USS Forrestal business is one of the most important things you will ever learn about McSame, McNasty & McFraud.

Y'all get quadruple bonus points when you learn about McNasty's Daddy and his role in the USS Liberty and cover up of the same. (A different incident; imj, one of the most important incidents in American history. Google it.)

(Actually, HS, this link should, imho, run as a separate post.)

http://judicial-inc.biz/ 82jjohn_...ss_forresta.htm

Gravatar Clark is right, just because McCain managed to lose 5 Navy aircraft
~~~
(/snark alert.) HS, does this make McCain a North Vietnamese "ACE?"
(Definition of an ace. A military aviator who shoots down 5 of the enemies planes.)
Gravatar McCain is the son and grandson of 4 star Navy admirals.
If he is such "hot shit" why did the Navy choose to not even promote him to a 1 star admiral?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Gravatar McCain as war (*cough* - bullshit - *cough*) hero:
http://www.counterpunch.org/ vale...ne06132008.html
Gravatar WetHornet:
The navy is a lot of things, but it does not promote collaborators if it can avoid it. McCain was a collaborator during his stay in North Vietnam. The tapes ( that is plural, he made many for the NV ) were available. His stars power went away the day the first tape was broadcast to the world. Up is down; collaborator is hero.
Gravatar Uh... What did you say? In English, please.
~ is maintaining:
1) That Clark was acting in concert with the Obama campaign.
2) That he (first in his class at West Point, Rhodes Scholar, four-star Supreme NATO Commander) was best suited to attack McCain on this issue, and accordingly, did so.
3) That Obama's campaign would then make a statement "denouncing" Clark's comments, burnishing his own image as someone above petty partisan politics.
4) Having said that, the bell cannot be unrung, and now McCain's military service, and whether or not it has any relevance to whether he should be President, will now be discussed in all forms of media, and around water coolers and kitchen tables everywhere, all without Obama himself having raised the issue.
5) And that, exposing himself to criticism for his statement, Clark has earned favor from Obama.
Gravatar what you are watchign is some masterful political jujitsu...epople are now talking about McCains server and if it was heroic or not.....all teh while Obama keeps his hands clean.
Oh and I hope the ydue bring up the foristal incident..the navy report had McCain and his habit of showing off by wetstartign his plane as responsable for the accident.
Gravatar Well, that's lovely. The work net nanny has restricted access to the Forrestal link - as 'racism and hate.' Guess I'll need to read it at home.
And I sure as hell hope that Clark was doing something orchestrated...but Obama's typical Dem reaction, which included unquestioningly accepting the right wing spin on what Clark supposedly said doesn't exactly sound like the brilliant triple head fake that it is being touted as possibly being. He looked weak.
Clark was on Dan Abrams last night and he ain't backing down an inch. Abrams went nuts with the 'flying and crashing a jet is not a pre-requisite for being president' nonsense. He kept repeating it like a mantra, and apparently he wasn't LISTENING to what he was saying, because frankly, if flying and crashing a jet was a pre-requisite for being president, well, that would thin the herd of available candidates right down, now wouldn't it?
And Abrams has been trying to position himself as apres-Olberman. Not so much last night...the koolaid stains on his mouth gave him away.
Gravatar The one thing that makes me think this is not coordinated is the quality of the surrogate. Clark's impressive resume is such that he is mentioned as a candidate for a number of positions in an Obama Administration, suh as VP, Sec. of State, UN Ambassador (but not Sec. of Defense, as he has not been retired from the Army for 10 years). The normal surrogate used in such a mission is a bit lower down the food chain.
Gravatar Interesting note: The Forrestal fire may have been caused by him.
It's rumored that he did a so called wet start and that's what fired off the Zuni rocket in the jet behind him.
A wet start is something that dumbass hotdog pilots do as pranks or macho displays.
See also here.
Gravatar matthew,
i was ready to send that info on mcsame wet starting the forrestal fire out to all the dumbass republican't fucks i know until i read that last part about the alleged zionist/communist conspiracy. that kinda killed the deal and took away any credibility that story may have had.
Gravatar I am SO pissed off at Team Obama's reaction to this. Everything Clark said was on the money and NOTHING that denigrated McCain's service. Yet, it appears that Obama can't run fast enough from Clark trying to appear "patriotic" and worthy of the votes of the center (whatever that is).
See, this is the crap that keeps the Dems losing time and time again.
Gravatar drbopper @4:47am---
Thanks!.The third rail of McCains's imprisonment saga is his collobration with the Vietnamese while he was their 'guest'. CounterPunch keeps punching--and rightfully so- on this story. Last night Olbermann outlined 10 or 12 of McDummy's most recent flip flops on issues and legislation. There's ample reason to believe he flipped for the Vietnamese as well.
McCain is like a goose--every day is a brand new world for him regardless of what has happened or he has said before.
Gravatar Aquarius40 from day 1 obama has stated that he would not condone attack politics...thsi let the dems attack, gets teh mame out there while keepign his hands clean.
Gravatar Ummm.... the "wet start" scenario would require mccains plane be in front of the zuni missle plane. The video that shows him jumping from the nose of his plane has its ass point out to sea. Also, unless a "wet start" produces intense heat for 1 minute and 20 seconds, the "cook off" time for that missle, then it would not have triggered it, it would have exploded it.
The bbc documentary, 5-youtube set,identifies some other man as the pilot of the plane that was hit by the zuni. He jumped out of his plane, landed breaking his hip and elbow. McCain's youtube states McCain was the pilot of the plane that was hit by the zuni. That's confusing.
I don't think you can make the case fo the wet start scenario. However, there is a huge case to be made with the tapes, especially, the ones they refuse to release to the Americans. Hours and hours.
I also hope like hell Wes Clark stands by his assessment because it is the absolute truth. I happen to believe John McCain's daddy could have gotten him released/rescued at any time during his detention. His injuries primarily came from the crash, not his captors. Those tapes are key, but we're not going to see them.
Regardless, none of that qualifies him to be commander in chief.... at all. Wes Clark has more cred for that absolutly. If his words are not coordinated with the obama camp, then he's trotting out what we would have seen had hillary got the nom. I think it is coordinated with Obama and his response is what he has to say. Just like his denounciation of Move On. I disagree with what he's doing, but hey, I anin't the nom. I think he better get back to those that brung him.... pronto.
Gravatar Mr Bigstuff: Thanks for the catch....I was considering posting it....ewww....
CK, I believe you and I are on the same page. I know all about Mister McCain, including his time as a POW.
My intention was to get people to think about the MYTH of McCain's war hero status. (I have seen very little of this on the lefty blogs before now.)
Below are a couple of links to articles by Devvy Kidd. The short version is that McCain did collaborate. That he, in his Senate position, was an a**hole to POW/MIA families, that some POW's from that time hate his guts, ad naseum.
Do not let the fact that it comes from newswithviews distract you. Devvy Kidd, a real conservative, is, imho, one of the most important commentators out there.
(Also, a friendly warning note: reading Kidd is like reading Digby. Tons of substance. A full 7 course meal and then some.)
Gravatar mr. bigstuff & matthew s,
i am sorry that you choose to let the "zionist" stuff stop you in your tracks.
please discourse at length about:
* the uss liberty incident. (to include mccain's daddy.)
*about jonathan pollard.
*about the lavon affair.
*about almost assassinating the u.s. ambassador to lebanon in 1979.
*about giving u.s. military technology to the soviets and the chinese.
*about 9/11 and the movers (jumping for joy) and the art students.
*about the dual citizenship of messrs. perle, wolfowitz, feith, chertoff, (insert the rest of the names).
pls. have your "dumbass republican fucks" that you know discourse at length about the above.
ditto for the american public.
~~
as they say...."nothing to see here, move along."
"in an age of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." goerge orwell.
ps. pls. give your friends bonus points when they tell you that entebbe was a false flag job and that bibi netanyhu's (benjamin) brother yoni (jonathan) died in vain. yoni was the lt. col., bn (battalion) commander who led the op.
the family published a book of yoni's letters back in the early 80's. great book. (i read it back in the day.)
Gravatar To return to the question of whether Clark was right in (gasp!) dissing McCain: Yes, he was. As to Team Obama's response:
" Obama's reaction to Wes Clarke's opinions is very disappointing. More and more he reminds me of Clinton in '92."
For my part, I'm increasingly getting Tony Blair vibes off of Obama. Not that it doesn't amount to the same thing, ultimately.
Gravatar truns out obmam reaction to clarks satmetn was "clark has no reason to apologise." perhapse we need to listen to what the guy says adn not the words that a bisaed media puts in his mouth.
