I doubt much will happen to Rove. For starters, he's a slippery character, oozing buttery emollients from every pore like the slug that he is; and he'll be protected by the GOP for as long as it takes.

Gravatar I hope this opens the door for prosecution of the Bush crime family. But I know that until January of next year it isn't going to happen.

Gravatar "Heavily wattled kneecapper..."

Love it. :o)

Just. Fucking. Love. It. :o)

Always good to hear your voice, LM.

Le's get 'em. :o)

It's simpler than that, Bush will simply issue blanket Pardons to all of his inner core come Jan, he has no reason not to and every reason to.
No really, does anyone really think that is not what is going to happen.

Gravatar I doubt much will happen to Rove.

Well, sure, not nearly as much as I'd like to happen. But with his build, the whole "falling down a well and no one gets him out" scenario was never very probable anyway...

But what I like to see is how hard they are working. I mean, blacking out half of Alabama? Desperation move indeed! Like no one in Alabama was going to find out any other way? That's freakin' delusional. That's bending back your fingernails for just a little more time, hanging onto the cliff, getting the assets off-shore...

Because something is coming down. It won't be enough. It won't be fast.

But for them, it will be devastating.

And I plan to do as much as I can to make that meteor hit as big and bad as possible.

Gravatar "Because something is coming down. It won't be enough. It won't be fast.

I wonder if the collapse of Carlyle Capital has turned some of Poppy's faction completely against Dim Son and his Cheney-ite enablers. I mean, if you can't protect your backers' profits, you as a front man (or even grey eminence) become a liability. Speculating further, I wonder if Dick Cheney (and perhaps a few others, including Rove) will have sudden and conveniently-timed natural deaths (i.e. right around the end of the Bush maladministration, assuming they don't try to stay on) a la William Casey which will serendipitously protect the greater crime enterprise as a whole...

Gravatar i'm just glad that there was a federal judge somewhere who had the nerve to actually stand for the law and the rule of that law.

i'm perfectly willing to let this wind its way through. the more flimsy the government's case begins to appear, the easier the case of abuse of power is to make.

bring it all on.

Gravatar I'm hoping we see the GOP prevent defense collapse like the following:

November 23, 1984: Doug Flutie's "Hail Mary" finds Gerard Phelan to give BC a huge 47-45 win over Miami.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=q3ykWbu2Gl0

November 20, 1982: "The Play". Stanford has a 20-19 lead with 4 seconds left. Cal uses five lateral passes to return the ensuing kickoff for the winning TD...with the band on the field. (And apologies to any Stanford alumni readers if I open old wounds).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0...h? v=0fZCCAqoSwY

And finally a personally painful one for me from the Canadian Football League since it happens against my beloved Edmonton Eskimos. I saw it live on TV with jaw dropping disbelief.

July 20, 2006: 100 yard pass and run play on the final play of the game. Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Edmonton Eskimos. Kevin Glenn to Milt Stegall.

Gravatar I hope they are playing "prevent" because that play really doesn't work.

The only thing that helps to control my rage over this is the fact that the crimes committed to jail this man will still be felonies after Bush and co. leave office.

What size prison jumpsuit will ol' Karl need?

XXXXXXXXXL?

Gravatar Or a hockey example - a team has a chance to put the game away with an empty net goal - but screws it up. Then the opposition comes back and scores the game tying goal with 2 seconds left.

Sound far fetched?...it happened

Gravatar Thanks Thor! Always good to see Dallas lose, no matter what the sport!!

Oh yeah, Rove. Pardons all around. Nothing to see here. Perhaps most important is having it in the public eye, because the narrative people will hear is that Siegelman was in prison because of political shenanigans.

Gravatar rove gets a pardon, so dose the rest of the crew...and after clintons pardon fest we can't say boo about it.

Gravatar Well, moonglum, we could say boo about it.

It's not like sense works with this crew anyway. "Yeah, well, Clinton didn't pardon war criminals."

I mean, why are we worried about what the Republicans say? They are going to whine no matter what we do.

Like it matters.

Let's make 'em Not Matter.

Gravatar Kinda OT, but the careers of Karl ‘Kneecapper’ Rove and Lee ‘Willie Horton’ Atwater should remind us that it’s wrong to characterize Billary as the ultimate incarnation of ‘will do anything to win’.

Gravatar I hope this opens the larger can of worms involving the whole US Attorney scandal.

Be nice to get some people under oath in front of congress.

One also has to wonder just what exactly have the US Attorneys who decided to "play ball" with the administration been up to?

Gravatar For Attila the Rove, January must seem a long long long ways away right now. Can the DOJ overturn Shrub's pardons, I wonder? They sure should.

Anybody NOT want to see his fat ass handcuffed live on air, right in the middle of one of his deeply meaningful rants? Maybe even with a bonus tasing as he foolishly resists? Yeah, I didn't think so.

Book 'em, Dan-o.
Douchebag-One.
