Gravatar #2 is the classic "Anarchy in the UK" by the equally classic (and partially embalmed) Sex Pistols.

Gravatar #9 includes the title--Johnny Cash's "Dirty Old Egg-Suckin' Dog".

Gravatar #6 is Born At the Right Time, by Paul Simon, off the Rhythm of the Saints album.

I'm fond of the chorus:
Never been lonely

Never been lied to

Never had to scuffle in fear

Nothing denied to

Born at the instant

The church bells chimed

Whole world whisperin'

Born at the right time...

Gravatar 4. Coat of Many Colors... that my mamma made for me.

Written by Dolly Parton but I perfer the version by The Lynn Morris Band.

Gravatar Methinks #1 is David Bromberg. Is the first line the title?

Gravatar # 5 is "My Brain is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)" by The Ramones.

Gravatar #10 is "The Dyin' Crapshooter's Blues" by Blind Willie McTell.

Gravatar Sorry I can't name any of the tunes, but perhaps some kind soul can help me out with this one: I've been stuck at home recovering from surgery (emergency appendectomy, they got it out before it blew & even did it laproscopically, thank FSM), with a bad case of post-anesthesia brain fog and an inability to recall things I've known for years. So...I was watching Tony Bourdain's No Reservations this afternoon, in which he was running amok in Sweden, and he made a reference to an Iggy Pop song talking about "Swedish magazines" (in the '60s/70s sense, that is...). I know I know damn well what song this is, but I can't remember either the title or even the whole verse w/that line in the damn song! HELP!!!

Gravatar Lucky number 7
Taj Mahal

Cakewalk Into Town

Which I always thought was a traditional but is credited to Taj...

Gravatar Thanks MB This is funner than just the random 10 thing. I'm glad I got one!

Have fun in SD. I'm packin' up the picks and such too heading out to a big artist/musicians campout weekend that benefits land preservation down past Morman Lake. Scrumptious land out thataway! Give my regards to the ocean

Gravatar No idea on #10, but I hope the music is better than the lyrics.

I mean, how could Little Jesse be "good-hearted" on the 3rd line, and on the next have a heart "hard and cold like ice"?

It don't work. Or was this a transcription error?

Yeah, I know: Sometimes I'm way too literal-minded.

Gravatar Oops: Not only too literal-minded, but not doing so well with that reading comprehension thing, either.

darms got it.

Gravatar 'Fuck, now every band I form from now on is going to need eight fucking drummers.' This would be one big nightmare for me. Don't ask why.

Gravatar 8. Tish Hinajosa (probably spelled wrong) There's Somethng About the Rain.

(Or shot in the dark by MHJ :lol

Gravatar nope, although i've heard tish do this one. i loves me some tish. deeply and stuff. she's got teeth.

Gravatar Ok, ok, I stand corrected: Except for my nitpick, those lyrics are pretty damn sweet.

Youtube has several different renditions, but not the original. Hell, I might have it, in that stack of blues CDs that I haven't quite worked my way through yet.

Gravatar Never mind...I think I answered my own question. It's "5'1"", isn't it? *sigh* Damn post-anesthesia asphasia...

Gravatar That was it.

I wish life could be Swedish magazines
I wish life could be Swedish magazines
I wish life could be...anything!

I won't grow anymore.

Damn kids, get off my lawns - Old Man McCain
