All I want for Christmas is a 65-35 balance in the Senate, in favor of the Democrats (so Lieberman can be tossed upon the trash heap of history where his greasy ilk belong). Along with a majority in the House and Obama in the WH.
Not too much to ask for, and I shall waterboard Santa until he agrees.
The Democratic party needs Obama at the top of the ticket in the urban South and Mountain West. The candidate chasing a shrinking demographic in the Ohio Valley would be very bad strategic move.
i think it's very telling that the returning veterans are nearly unanimous in their affiliation with the democratic party. we might even take a moment to thank george "macaca" allen for converting jim webb to the cause. webb's son was getting ready to deploy to al-anbar and webb went to his senator's office to talk about his concerns and suggest that allen support a rational withdrawal plan being proposed. allen told him "i can't go against my president." webb says "at that moment i became a democrat."
the guys whose boots are on the ground in these mismanaged and pointless actions know full well where the blame lies, and also where the hope for an end to the senseless killing and loss lies. they know who really supports them and wants to see them home alive.
Off-topic: How about a post on the travesty of a debate that ABC News forced down the public's collective throat last night? This topic is just "on fire" at Reddit.com right now.
Now can someone get a candidate to run against David Scott (D) GA-13? He's useless. Has gone along to get along and the time to do that is so long gone that his behavior (in my mind) is criminal.
