Gravatar He ain't dead yet

Of course he and his family are in my thoughts and prayers and sending good healing energy over thata way.

I'm going to wait for the "inoperable" diagnosis before I throw in the towel. We need him and what he did this year to get our party back is, to me, the highlight of his career. There's still much he will do, I'm sure. He's pretty tough.

Gravatar Ted Kennedy thanks everyone for their kind words and sez: "I'm not dead yet!"

Gravatar Median survival for grade III glioma is 3 to 5 years. For grade IV it's less than one year. Once they finish the staging we'll have a better idea. Note that in the initial medical info releases to the media they don't mention surgical intervention as part of the treatment plan. Not good - not good at all.

Gravatar It's kind of annoying and worrying that it was discovered due to a seizure. It may be the usual way of finding you have these nasty things, but I don't like the sound of it.
I hope he'll live as long as possible in a pretty good state - as in, not too much suffering, and with his intellectual abilities up.
Yet if it's time for worrying, it's far from time for mourning.

Gravatar A sad day indeed.
this man is serving his country and has done so for all of my life time.

Will wait in hope to hear more from the doctors.

Gravatar From the DNC

DNC Statement on Senator Kennedy
Washington, DC--Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement on Senator Ted Kennedy:

"Senator Kennedy is a true American hero and a leader in the Democratic Party, having spent a lifetime standing up for the values of fairness, justice and equality. On behalf of the Democratic Party, we extend our prayers and well wishes to Senator Kennedy, his wife Vicky, and the entire Kennedy family."

Gravatar Dance, when you're broken open.
Dance, if you've torn the bandage off.
Dance in the middle of the fighting.
Dance in your blood.
Dance, when you're perfectly free.

Gravatar Damn, damn, DAMN.

My partner had a good observation, though. Perhaps in February 2009, Senator Clinton can lead the fight in the Senate for the "Ted Kennedy Universal Health" bill.

Prez. Obama will be happy to sign it.

DAMN!

Gravatar brat -- that is a brilliant idea, actually

Gravatar brat, that is indeed, perfect. love and best wishes to him and his family and close friends, and dammit, I will say healing.

I'm tired of stopping myself from saying healing.

Healing, dammit!

Gravatar The grief he's borne....
