I don’t know about “America does not like mercenaries” it seems to me that unfettered capitalism is the republican way and Mercenaries are a direct result of that, and like it or not approximately ˝ the country voted for Bush to apply the Republican way.
I personally suspect that many, many Americans see nothing wrong in using Mercenaries to secure oil supplies and maintain their “standard of living” the fact that the whole Iraq adventure went horribly wrong for everyone except a few doesn’t detract from that.
Blackwater may be shut down (I really doubt it's going to happen, these guys are waaaaay too connected to be just shut out of the gravy train), but Prince is busy getting Greystone (an international subsidiary) up and running. Remember those articles Steve wrote about hiring cheap third world mercenaries? That's the Greystone business model, and a slap on the wrist for tax evasion isn't going to stop any of this.
