The funniest part of that ad is that it was not actually commissioned by JC Penney. It's a spec commercial. Penney's only heard about it AFTER it won at Cannes... and now they are looking into legal action against the production company. Shows you how cool they are. hah.

Yeah, and if it wasn't for the suit, about a zillion people woulda said "cute comercial!" and forgotten.
Now it'll be in the news for 6 months and the production company will get craploads of business out of it (which they deserve--this was a scream!).
One of the few benefits of being an out-to-self-and-friends lesbians as a teenager during the early 1970s: Nobody wonders what girls are doing in their underwear in the bedroom, at a slumber party, on a basketball road trip, etc....Of course, I was too shy to make full use of the opportunity, but I still created some memories.
Have you seen the "Male Mom" Heinz commercial in the UK that's having to be pulled because it "makes parents have to talk to their children"? It's hilariously clever, can still be viewed here.
