Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans should note that "Recount" was written by Danny Strong, who played Jonathan Levinson on the dear old show. I've long been a fan of Danny's; I think he's as cute as a button, and Jonathan was the character I could most relate to on BtVS, not least of all because of Danny's endearing portrayal of him. DS also had a recurring role on Gilmore Girls for its last 3 seasons or so.
Danny co-hosted a Hollywood fundraiser for John Kerry's useless, undeserving ass back in 2004. He's a good lad, and politically, he's quite well meaning, as the new film should clearly demonstrate. In fact, what with "Recount" and that 2004 fundraiser, I can't help noticing (yet again!) the vast difference bewteen the people who support the Democrats and the self-serving running dogs who are actively in control of the Party. To wit: I understand Warren Christopher has already been whimpering about his portrayl in "Recount", how inaccurate it is, how unfair, etc. etc. Imagine that: One of the cringing, gutless pieces of shit who stood idly by, allowing the Rethugs to steal the 2000 election is incensed that he's being shown in a critical light for it! Goodness, whatever Next? Accountability in politicians? We can't have that!
The DLC and incompetent-loser factions of the DNC bear a lot of responsibility for the disaster of the last 8 years. If liberals and progressives of any affiliation are going to take back this republic, we can't have any illusions about what still needs to be fixed within the Democratic Party.
Watching it now.....and it's pissing me off....I keep yellling fuck you at the tv....I guess just being reminded of that night is a little rawer of a memory than I expected it to be....but considering the past 7 1/2 years, I just cannot get over it.
But, having said that, the actors playing the parts look too spookily like their characters....way too spookily....maybe that's why I can't stop yelling at the tv.
Don't want to watch it.
Who knows, Hillary may write the second installment of "Recount" in Denver.
The superdelegates can make that Rules and Credentials "showdown" on May 31, practically irrelevant.
After Hillary's latest demonstration of "toughness" and "political savvy", that they haven't already done it is a little scary. If they are so afraid of she and her supporters that they're willing to slide her wretched logic for staying in, and let her continue her grotesque parody of a campaign, then then the democratic party is in a HELL of a lot more trouble than ANYONE has thought we were.
As a minor feature, it includes a reminder of how long Lieberman has made a point of screwing over his own (former) party at every possible opportunity.
So now they're going to do the recount? Hmmmmmm Lemme know how it turns out, I don't have hbo.

So, no injustice done. Sounds like a close-to-life portrait. Maybe a bit too flattering, not crazy enough, but some artistic license has to be allowed!

The tragedy about Katherine Harris is that in all states and counties we can find election officials like her. At best they are incompetent nincompoops. At worst they are felons who don't believe in democracy. Furthermore Gore was as self serving as Bush since he rejected a statewide recount (which might not have been in his favour) for a county wide one.

Speaking of Florida. Don't you suppose that Governor was getting his marching orders or maybe Mitt and Cindy were passing the payola over the weekend at the mccain "ranch"?
We have to win without Florida and Ohio. They have such magical machines there. We've had 8 years to figure this out..... and I think one person has been working on that.
