Hubris, not many people recall the Chinese kerfuffle early in W's first term. One of my professors at the time was all for wading in and blasting shit out of the airbase to 'liberate' our 'hostages.'
Uh huh.
The Turks will be back, as soon as the PKK reorganizes and decide to show their ass again. Not a damn thing we can do about it, though.

Thank goodness! This had the potential to turn the only relatively secure region in Iraq into turmoil. Good that this threat is gone now.
A personal point: Just yesterday, I had a converation about the situation with a small merchant here. He is of Kurdish origin and was very concerned about the safety and the wellbeing of his relatives who still live there. Imho it's good for us, seeing the news in a somewhat abstract light, to be reminded that this is about real people.

Yup, it's so easy. Just arrest the PKK. Hey, ok, the Turks didn't manage to do that on their own soil, but of course Kurdish Iraq is so much more advanced...

Wanderer's right.
They Griz-pissed wherever they wanted to.
Set the precedent for doing it anytime they wanted, in the future.
Put a little more pressure on oil prices and the dollar.
Thanked bush for the Sat Intel in the same breath they told him (and the Kurdish Regional Government) to go fuck themselves.
And now will pull back and park their tanks on the border again, and watch all of bush's spinning plates.

Happiness means never having to say you're sorry...
Just checked out the Bush museum and presidential library... very interesting donor/sponsor list including Enron, Halliburton, Eli Lilly, and the usual gang of idiots.
Can't wait to visit the bush ver 2.0 library. Just have to see if I can save up enough urine...

Just for a comment on the idiot, we should donate one copy of "My Favorite Goat," or whatever he was reading to that class on 9/11, to his library for every American who has died in his Iraqi Fuck-up. Might be a pretty big pile of books to go with the other one his library consists of...

Especially if they all arrive at once, and with postage due.

That headline...simply made me be-spittle my monitor. Good work, Hub.
P.S. It reminded me of Chevy Chase's old “Weekend Update” joke—“The U.S. pulled out of Angola this week. A very upset Angola was heard to say...”
