I supported him too.
But he needs to get out in front of the accusations that, a few short years ago, he fathered a child outside of his marriage. I know it's only in the tabloids, so far, but they've published photos of him alledgedly making a clandestine visit in L.A. to see the mother and the child.
John is a lawyer. He knows perfectly well where the libel-suit-levers are. He should answer this, one way or the other.
If it's true, then he should cop to it; we're all human, and, unlike the sanctimonious republican assholes trumpeting "family values" while they suck and fuck themselves crosseyed outside THEIR marriages, he hasn't gone that route at all.
If it's not true, then he needs to be legally playing with the Equirer's nads like Humphrey Bogart, with his little steel balls in "The Caine Mutiny".
Ignoring this, while still making good speeches, is not the way to go.
Obviously, if the accusations are true, he's out of the picture for a spot in any Obama administration. If not, then let him gin up some campaign funds for a possible run as veep or A.G., this time, or for another run at high office, down the road, by sueing the balls off the people who slandered him.
So what, if he DID cheat on his wife, and now has a child out of wedlock, WTF?
Please, if he DID this, he's a piece of shit.
Honor your honors, or fall.
I've managed to honor mine, for 24 years of commitment.
Others, they have different deals. FIne.
But Edwards? He cheated? Did he and his wife have a commitment of monogamy?
If so, and he violated that, then he's GUILTY!!!!
But please, there's no more honoring this man till this is solved . . . and it needs to be solved.
And he's not stood up to DENY any of it!!!

oddly I have to agree with larue herer. to me a lot of it depends on his relation ship with his wife...I have know a few open relationships that are very loving, between two equal partners that do have sex with other people...there marriges are stong and viable...its not for every one, in fact it would work for very few people...but it dose work.
if dwards has that type of relationship, then no big deal...if on teh other hand he had a tradtional marrige with hsi wife, adn was sleepign around...while she was fighting cancer..that is a problem, that is a major problem.
It's still a story about a story the Enquirer put out there. Photos.... where's the photos. There is lots of weirdness going down about the mystery shrouding the videos she produced for the campaign.
The facts are that we don't know what he was doing there. I have seen no photos and there was ample opportunity for the those clicky head paps to take some. So have they been brought up short by JE knowing if they publish them they will find themselves in court? Blackmail perhaps?
Again, we don't KNOW anything. I'm going with "They played a nice round of gin rummy"..... or he's being blackmailed. But, that's how I am *blush*.
The cycle of poverty takes a long term committment and the government, thus far, tends to throw money at it instead of a long term approach to empower people. Teach them to fish and all that.... Its a nobel cause and I'd love to see some committment from the government. JE is the one who I think could make a huge difference here.
Myrtle: there have been the rumors floatign around for a whiel...lots of oddness with the documentary if i remember correctly...again its jsut rumors....he needs to at least acknoladge the smoke, they have been tryign to let it blow over for while now and it keeps popeign back up with more (circumstantial) evidance....it dosn't look good, adn in his line of work aperance is everything
It only "doesn't matter" if he's not going to run for office in the next decade or so.
Besides which, sueing the tabloids is god's work. :o)
