Evan, thanks for compiling all the info and sharing it. Love the map!
I've read some of the info you share, but it's confusing for a lay guy like me to match it with the 'rhetoric' from the WH or the oil industry, energy 'experts' and such.
While I had a CLUE as to the present sitch, I could not have put my thoughts into a coherent posit.
Thanks to you, I can now hold a SOMEWHAT intelligent and informed conversation with the whackaloons!!!
That, is priceless!! *G*

evan, thank you for all the work you do on these deeper issues. I just wanted to note that I'm listening to HS's post of 'Superstition' as I'm reading this, and it seems somehow...apropros
back to the education...

Well yeah, that prison planet link may be a joke -- but the middle class sure ain't laughing. :P
Good collection. Whenever I get to feeling giddy, a few minutes at the Oil Drum brings me back to my senses.

Scary: oil just went over the $100 mark & they're already anticipating it going to $200?
Given the rising global population & expanding heavy-industry, & our stubborn maintenance of the suburban model for major cities, I can't see oil going back to $100/bbl. soon - or maybe ever. World demand is not only growing but speeding up, & the chances of another Hibernia are slim at best. ANWR looks awesome on paper, until you compare it to the demand in the years it'll produce - it's barely worth the effort, given how far from that demand it is & over what sort of terrain it has to be piped or shipped.
Only way it might happen is if enough people switch their modes of transport, heating & electricity. Enough as in most of humanity - the more of us there are, the more we use it up, & the higher the bar gets raised. Finding good substitutes for some of our plastics would be helpful too - we go through mountains of them & some are non-recoverable.

Excellent content - as you always provide and inspires me to come again and again.
There is one more valuable resource I
’d like to share with others readers. It’s called Secrets of Successful Traders that teaches you…
How to turn $1000 into $ 1MILLION in 5 years or less using nothing but...
-- a brokerage account (so that you can trade),
-- $1000 in a pocket
-- And one 'jealously guarded' strategy that won't even require you to spend 20 minutes a day.
And remember, there is no chart reading or boring technical analysis involved in the entire trade process.
