It's good to see the old gang from Steve's (rest in peace) blog here.
I didn't know until a few days ago that you existed.
Fuck the fucking yankees...and rudy too

I thought the John Candy ad had a lot more credibility in it. There is a certain creepiness factor that plays into whatever Rudy is saying. The man's only natural environment is talking about how much he wants to kill brown people interlaced with as many 9/11s as could possibly be devised.
Maybe if he would've stuck in that Senate race with Hillary he could've figured out he wasn't even ready to represent a state, let alone a country.

When I saw it I immediately said, "He's doing a Joe Pesci impression - he has to be."
And so Rudy continues his inexorable slide into irrelevancy.

Oh. My. Goodness.
I showed the 'Happy Holidays' ad to my children, and they screamed and ran to the corner, where they still remain huddled... the only signs of life being that they twitch every now and then.
I believe that I'll save this video for discipline purposes: "Take out the trash, child of mine."
"I don't wanna" "Ok, go watch ... The Video" "No! NO!! I'm going, I'm GOING!!!" (But, then again, it *could* be considered abuse :->)
Seriously, how on earth did it get past his PR people? Yikes!! (And my children lived through Giuliani, too... they thought the video was a reaally bad joke.)
It's fun, when they hand it to you on a platter, isn't it?

The moment I heard of that commercial I was eagerly waiting for your take on this act of insanity
Though I'm surprised that no one has said a thing about the guy dressed as Santa sitting next to Rudy. It was that part that really took this way past the 'WTF were they thinking?!' level for me.

In my opinion, Rudy just wants to Kill People.
But he scales back because of how it looks. Socially acceptable outlet and all that.
I swear, I thought it was video photoshopped; some genius sweating it out in their basement all these months...
Dear Santa, but Rudy's a creepy little man, isn't he?

The "pros" will tell you to watch the ads without sound. (the cross in Huck's ad is visually loud and clear -- he's lying about the intent) Rudy has a weird snarl going on and the outfit...yikes.
I bet he couldn't even tell you what a "strict constructionist judge" even means. "Boss we need to toss some red meat to the whackos"...
"A big wed bow on it..." sounds like Fred Willard.

I didn't find it jaw-dropping. That may be due to the fact that I live in the Midwest and fully expect high hokeyness to be part and parcel of anything even remotely holiday-themed. I did notice that the sweater looked a size or two too large, and it really did have the feel of something Mr. Burns would have used in his campaign when he ran for governor in that second-season episode of "The Simpsons".

Okay, now this sure is interesting. Maybe Rudy wanted to make sure as few people as possible would know where all the proverbial bodies are buried?

It doesn't look like we'll get the pleasure of booting him around in the general...... I was really hoping for thaaaaat. Dammit. Well, any of them are easy but just something a little more ridiculous about rudy's bid... Except for Fred Thompson that.

I just did so. His demeanor and body language had a very stiff, forced, and mechanical quality about them. It certainly didn't convey the holiday "warm fuzzy" feeling for which Rudy was aiming very much in vain.

You nailed it, LM. Damn if "Tommy Shanks" wasn't my first thought, too.
But then, I've been watching volumes 2 and 3 of the SCTV dvd set over the last few weeks. So instead of great minds thinking alike, that makes it one great mind and one coincidence.

Late to the party, but LM, this is ripe for YOU to do a parody of.
You know, one where Mafia thumb-breakers rough up Santa and give the Elves some concrete shoes, lie about having a permit for the reindeer, etc...
