Just finished a caucus with the drinking liberally folks who are now the "Living Liberally" umbrella including reading liberally, eating liberally etc. etc.
nice guys.
now we are at a very cool seminar for how to promote your blogs and make connections. seems like it will be interesting.
should be an interesting group. One of our friends from back in the 2004 campaigns is a presentor- BOB NEER- he is quite awesome.
later this afternoon I am going to a seminar with the fantastic Jane Hamsher about online-offline activism.
and we are all looking forward to the keynote tonight with Howard Dean.

Some tips promoted in the Getting the word out about your blog- panel...
we are in a session about promoting websites and blogs how to work with other groups, how to cross promote and how to grow the traffic and PR the sites.
one of the presters in this group has the site http://www.sourcewatch.org/
index...e=Congresspedia also very interesting.
first thing they stressed was making sure you make your site easy to find, easy to link to, and easy to track back to.
david kravitz and bob neer are from the Blue Mass Group website (the first statewide mass. blog) http://www.bluemassgroup.org/fro...rg/
frontPage.do
some other keys of what to do
1. Make the media your friend and try to promote through the local papers etc.
2. group webmasters/ bloggers are a good way to make successful blogs and sites because more people can make more good content more frequently
3. getting a wide diversity of opinions
4. transparency of stats, who are the writers, what are the goals.
5. simple rules that benefit the community, civil behavior, no personal attacks etc.
6. marketing- need good new content all the time. CONTENT IS KING
7. using syndications like leftyblogs
8. news feeds
9. web2.0 sites like Pownce and others Twitter
10. local and specific interest to your particular group.
make it fun- make it funny, keep it interesting and relevant.
good panel!

Howard is speaking right now!!! he is rabble rousing just like the old days... got the kids on their feet 3-4 times already....
totally awesome! really!
Howard continues to have and articulate great idea(r)s and he is talking about the fact that we need to vote and vote and keep on voting to end the war in Iraq!
he discussed the Repubs. filibustering and obstructionism.
He is discussing evangelicals and young people, how we can all work together.
His speech reminds me of the old days, the perfect storm, the old stump speech, the many great values the Dean campaign and now the DNC embrace.
great speech.
he has a huge heart
and an iron resolve
and is a real patriot.
great speech to close out the first day.

LM, no man, this is my movie and we cast as I say... Don't worry: you're in the Denzel role. Just don't have your graphic skills to slide Denzel in relaxing next to my two boys here.

Gen. Wesley Clark just keynoted - fantastic - he's asking us to pressure our reps to force Bush to take responsibility for his war, and to engage regions like Iran, to raise the discourse and work together with the world.
I was and am a diehard Dean person, but I very much admire Gen. Clark, and I also think he has gotten so much more relaxed and able to get his points across. Q&A time now.

And I thought your mom knew better than to drink rubbing alcohol and huff Easy-Off Oven Cleaner while pregnant with you.
Life is full of "I thoughts", isn't it?
