Gravatar I look forward to the day when a Democratic Speaker or Senate Majority Leader responds to Republican whining by saying, before dozens of TV cameras, "Awwwww, dose poor wittle Wepubwicans got their wittle feewings hurt! Pity those poor, poor, pitiful Wepubwicans!"

It would be shocking. It would lead the newscasts for a week. It would galvanize Democrats and demoralize Republikkkans. And it FINALLY would cast the Republicans in an accurate light -- whiny-ass titty babies.

Gravatar Could not agree with you more Mr. Hubris Sonic. I have been bitching about these DC Dems since Gore gave up the ass in Florida in 2001. The proles on the left, who know a thing or two about monkey stomping someone's ass have given time, money, and gads of emotional support to these DC Dem Wimps only to see them crumble like a sand castle at high tide. The DC Dem assholes will continue to cave until when? How many fucking elections and rightwing nutcase governments will we have to endure? Good Lord Almighty in Heaven help us if they give up the ass in 2008.

Gravatar Amen. I am so sick of Democrats rolling over. Stand up and fight!

Gravatar I would rather walk up to the Republicans put the stick on the ground and say; pick it up. go on, put your hand on it.

Oh yeeeeeah. Seems the only Democrat who does this consistently is Feingold.

Am I missing anyone else?

Gravatar Speaking of sticks, a friend had a run in with a kid from a fraternity on campus and the frat kid trashed my friend's car and left a note daring him to stop by the frat house if he had any complaints. The friend walked up to the frat house with a bat in his hand at noon the next day calling the frat kid out. Frat kid showed up on the porch with several buddies smirking and said "You must be afraid if you need a bat."
The friend tossed the bat up on the porch and said "No, I brought it for you." and proceeded to clean up the yard with several frat boys.
We need him in Congress.

Gravatar I would point out that a commenter over on fdl pointed out, rather hammer-nail-bangishly, that these people march to the tune and at the behest of the Empress in waiting's family.... but we're to shut up about that.... so I can't really make my point too well. But they do and that's why we are not seeing any change and that's why we won't. Period.

Gravatar Go Pete Stark!! We all know that Bush doesn't give a fcuk about all these deaths, so why beat around.... the Bush (unless you're a congressional dem, worried about 'collegiality').

Gravatar fuck-n-A.

Gravatar what ever happened to dems like tip o'neil who would have chuckled and told that blow dried tan in a can son of bitch boehner to grow the fuck up because "politics ain't beanbag."

it ain't. it's supposed to be bare knuckle debate in the well of the house especially. physical attacks are frowned upon, but not unknown. members of congress in session are even immune from slander prosecutions because the speech is supposed to be the freest imaginable.

pelosi's a weenie, hoyer a douche.

stark is da man.

Gravatar I'm sick over this. It seems like the Dems in Congress roll over on every issue. What part of 70% don't they understand?? The American people are tire of Bush and everything he stands for.

Gravatar Myrtle June, The Clinton's are just another Alpha perhaps, they feel, their Alpha, but it doesnt matter. They are Beta's, they are Delta's. Any Alpha will do.

Gravatar aren't Beta's... not 'are'

Gravatar Well, any Alpha won't do if they runnin' in the same direction we have been. This is what the Empress in waiting's family plan is regardless of what she says or does. Just like the emporer's plan was to do Iraq even before he was selected.

The dems in congress, while I'd like to beat them up for being pussys, which they are, cannot seem to turn the corner. They sure as hell "saw" it during the campaign....... now they're blocks and blocks away from the corner. They've wandered off, scared themselves with their power to make the change. Afraid they'll be blamed. They don't get that ONLY by turning that corner will the "blame" fimly afix itself where it belongs automatically and permanently...... on bushco's ass. Unless they turn the corner by laying aside their own self interest (and that of the empress), the shitbag will continue to be their feedbag forever.

Stark needs not, and better not, apologize here. It's an opening for a leader to emerge and grab this truth ball and run with it.

Gravatar We Fight On.

Against anyone who wants to sell us out at remaindered prices, regardless of which Party you claim to represent, or how many flags you stand in front of.

We Fight On.

It's right on the letterhead.

Absolutely God damned right we do.

Gravatar "Keep pushing"? fuck that, let's start STEPPING on the damn thing.

Gravatar I seriously wonder if Pelosi has any idea why this Congress has something like a 11 percent rating. That is the polling number the Republicans cling to in talking about how 3 out of 4 Americans absolutely fucking hate their manboy chimperor.

While the stunning ineffectiveness of this Congress will probably not lead to Republicans being elected, I really don't see how this Congress can even be effective under a Democratic President. They have been good at uncovering a lot of scandals but then they don't follow up on it.

Democratic elected official: "Uh Mr. President it appears that you were doing something illegal"

Bush: "9/11 said I could. Now give me what I want or I will bash you upside the head with my massive 25 percent popularity"

DEO: "Yes sir right away! I don't want to give you any issues to beat me over the head with next election!"

Bush: "I didn't hear all of what you said you terrorist-loving pussy. I have to go give a speech now about how if you vote for Democrats you are not only a traitor, but you die"

(Bush leaves)

DEO: (to himself) "What can I do to make him like me??"

Stark doesn't give a shit if Bush likes him. In fact he would probably be a little uncomfortable if Bush DID like him. "Impeachment is off the table" Pelosi doesn't seem to understand this concept. If she did she would be more concerned with directing fire outward instead of perpetually stabbing the base in the back.

Gravatar Fuck the fucking congress. BOTH Houses.

Fuck them all . .

Fight on to elect progressives . .

OH.

BTW.

When does GNB get into THAT shit, to earn my love?

I'm just askin . . . And that change gotta come politically.

And Economically.

Enuff, already.

Suck it up, and get in the present games that matter . . . enuff already, of yer personal problems. I KNOW of these things, they are all around me, and always have been.

Tell me of shit I DON'T know . . . I know of evil, and suffering . . . give me some answers.

I look to you folks as leaders, yer telling me yer lives are full of pain . . . I want leadership.

Lead.

I know yer pain, I feel yer pains, I know and have lived among many of the pains expressed in here.

But lead, will ya. Just phreakin lead. Enuff of yer personal pains. We've all got that shit, we don't come here for that.

We thought that YOU FIGHT BACK!!!!

So. Like. FIGHT ALREADY!

Gravatar There is a great deal about American politics I don't yet grasp completely or if I did, I get disabused on a regular basis.

For example -I thought that the role of an opposition to an administration was to oppose?

Gravatar Comes a time when you have to say: Enough is enough!
.

Gravatar I applaud Pete Stark for saying what needed to be said - Bush is prolonging this war to satisfy some weird-ass vicarious need to prove he's a fucking man.

And the Dem leadership gets the fucking vapors at Stark's dose of the truth.

I would love to hear Stark, in the well of the House, turn to Speaker Pelosi and say, "Retract? Madam Speaker, in the immortal words of the Vice President,go fuck yourself."

Gravatar Three cheers for Stark and giving the wimps in DC (GOP, DEms and the beltway bandits) the vapors.

Politics is not a tea party. We need more hard ball at home and far more finese in foreign policy.

And please, if you can, run for office be it school board, county comish, state government or federal government. We need better democratic pols across the US and at every level.

Gravatar This from a CNN quick poll

Congressman Pete Stark accused Republicans of sending troops to Iraq to "get their heads blown off for the president's amusement." Should he apologize?
Yes 7% 858
No 93% 11170
Total Votes: 12028

Gravatar Cee,
Holy shit!

Is the poll unscientific? Yes. Does it reflect the voters' passion about this issue? Fuckin aye yes, goddammit! Why doesn't Pelosi want to encourage the *passionate* Democrats? We're the people who knock on doors and dial phones and give money!

Don't let anyone brush that poll off as "merely unscientific." Yeah, if you did a "scientific" poll, maybe 25 percent of respondents would say Stark should apologize. But the other 75 percent feels strongly about it, and a big chunk of those feel *passionate* about it. We *love* a congressman who stands up to those Mark Foley Republican whiny-ass titty babies demagogue motherfuckers. (OK, so most of them are son-fuckers; you know what I mean.)

Gravatar I think we can begin to see who is compromised by all the spying that has been going on.

Gravatar I am as disappointed as everyone else with Democratic congressional leadership. At the same time, I think they are playing not to lose the next election. Put simply everyone knows that the winds are about to blow the Republicans out of power in a big way. Leadership seems to be trying its' best to not fuck that up.

I don't think this excuses them or even gives them cover but it does give a rationale for the wierd things they have been doing.

Gravatar WE are going to have to lead THEM.

They're shitting green nickles, with the uncertainties of the election issues, and looking at what's coming in Iraq, if they win the white house and a solid majority in both houses of congress.

THE question is, are they craven enough and stupid enough, to let bush and the GOP slip out the back door and then come after them with flensing knives, for "losing Iraq"?

Soon now, they are going to HAVE to start speaking truth and outrage at what bush has done, to us and the world, or they will be so complicit in it, that they will be helpless, and useless in doing anything about it.

Gravatar at some point Democratic "incompetence" or "spinelessness" becomes complicity

Gravatar "Why doesn't Pelosi encourage the passionate democrats?"

Because she's scared of us. We're the ones who were pivotal in getting her elected, and we're the ones who are raising hell about her selling out.

Why should she, or the rest of them, encourage us? They want us to vote for them and then disappear.

Gravatar I dunno;

I don't think there are specific "high crimes and misdemeanors" enough to successfully impeach bush.

I DO think that as we move deeper into the election, Iraq will be, by far, the largest, and-getting-larger issue. (Hillary, are you listening? :o) )

and I think that the GOP will be under more pressure on that, than will the democrats from us.

It IS a game of chicken, whether we like it or not. Iraq is not going away, and I still feel that if the democrats single-handedly find some way to pull the troops out, while the replublicans watch, the GOP would be ecstatic to have them do it, because it would be the damndest get-out-of-jail-free card in the history of monopoly.

In fact, I would say that the question of "Who is going to get blamed for the denouement?" of bush and the GOP'S bloody, useless, soap opera, is going to become the central issue of the campaign. And that is why we need to be very careful to nominate someone who can go after them with both barrels on that.

Gravatar Cee! Straight poop?

Fuckin' hell, that's a shock. Honestly, I have been of two minds about Stark's commment.

His outrage and anger are commendable, but I thought that he had needlessly handed the asshats a stick, albeit it a relatively small one, to beat us with, by claiming that bush enjoys seeing our troops die, when there are so many factual things with which to puree their nuts.

And I thought he'd handed the republicans AND the MSM a chance to portray us as wild-eyed Jane Fondas.

I am delighted to be so wrong. :o)

I'm also delighted that CNN even asked the question.

I think that our pols are generally chickenshits, as they sit on their hands and wait for someone else to define the issues in this election. (A vacuum which the warpimps are, of course, only too happy to fill.)

And the MSM has terribly, bloodily, abdicated it's roll of reporting on the facts and the truth about what bush and his coterie of corporate shits have done to us.

Maybe, just maybe, that's about to change. Let's make it happen.

:o)

Gravatar Riddle me this, y'all: (Q.): When is cowardice not cowardice? (A.): When it's complicity masquerading as cowardice. (Q.): When is incompetence not incompetence? (A.): When it's collaboration hiding behind a smokescreen called "incompetence". (Q.): When is stupidity not stupidity? (A.): When it's a self-serving and deceptive political "strategy" that covers itself with the pretense of stupidity.

I admit the waters are muddied with the above because there genuinely is honest-to-goodness incompetence, cowardice and stupidity at work in the modern day Democratic Party, but by and large, the Dem "leadership" know perfectly well what they're doing. Pelosi isn't incompetent; she's an aristocratic traitor who views the vast number of Americans as peasants who don't know their proper place. If her interview from last week, in which she was snarling about how awful it was that the filthy Dem voting base actually expected her to work on their behalf didn't clue y'all in, I don't know what the fuck will.

Gravatar John D.; I'm clued in. :o)

Pelosi and Co. are close enough to...make that in bed WITH, the GOP on their "What's good for Halliburton is good for america" bullshit, that they can't bring themselves to do squat to interfere with it...

Which makes it that much MORE important that we nominate someone who is NOT in the pocket of big bidness.

Gravatar Cee! The current lead thread at FDL, is by Jane Hamsher. It's titled "Can anyone here play this game?" and it's about Stark's comments.

I didn't think the CNN poll results had been posted there yet, so I posted them (#12) with credit to you for posting them here.

The thread is just getting started. You guys might want to check it out.

Gravatar Let me try that again;

Gravatar Tanbark,

Straight poop. :D

http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/...erican.morning/

I haven't gotten over Nancy talking about antiwar protestors annoying her neighbors.

She reminds me of Barbara Bush with that statement. Snot!

Gravatar Remember: Pelosi has been clued into the domestic snooping bidness, maybe back to early 2001.

Enabling anyone?

And don't get me started on Senator Rockefeller of telecom.

Gravatar Cee!! That article pissed me right off last week. That "Get offa my sidewalk you dirty hippies" reminded me of that "Get off my lawn" bit by ........ I think Monty Python.

And people can discount the poll, but then they'd have to also discount the "frontrunner" candidate polling methods of all the major polls. I think theirs usually only include about 1-2K respondents .... who have a land line.... who are a home and have time to answer at the polling time. GREAT posting up that poll, Cee. Thanks!

Gravatar Cee; what Myrtle June said. :o)

Gravatar The dem's are likely complicit in a lot of stuff, even as BoyKing stole the FIRST erection (FLorida, Supreme's), and then the second one, too (Ohio).

They are likely complicit of arms deals, black ops, the invasion of Afghanistan, Iraq, and domestic spying. Not to mention bribes and kickbacks for legislation to benefit their big war machine benefactors.

They are guilty as hell, and part of our problem.

Until that's acknowledged, we the sheeple can't do much of anything . . . the blog's need to pave that start, and give us something to march on.

Blogs? (I'm TIRED of cricket noises) . . .

BTW, Drifty you da man for telling it like it is in yer comment here on the GNB . . . thanks hoss.

Gravatar a storm's a commin...the longer they hold it back and cling to the old ways the worse its going to be when it hits...
