Sry, OT, but NYT has a ten page story up about the fight in Afghanistan (we just discussed this here). Not all is well there. Actually, quite to the contrary, the most urgent point being that the troops' deployment is too long, with not even remotely enough home leave (18 days in 15 months!). A must read:

N I thought Don Ellis on acid (me on the acid) in 17/32 time was wierd (1971 Fillmore Auditorium).

Same show with Santana, and John McLaughlin and Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Perhaps, at age 18, and even now, one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. N back then, I didn't know it. Alas, the tragedy of youth mispent.
