It was mine and Diane's first anniversary today. Went out fr a lovely Steak and Crab (Diane) and Blackened Steak (me) dinner.
Spent the day getting a new classroom and lab ready for another year of teaching chemistry. The floors are all polished. The desks and cabinets are spotless. And there's fresh paint everywhere. It will last that way until about the 2nd week of September.
Today is (still 8/13 for 40 minutes) American feminist Lucy Stone's birthday and the anniversary of the day they started building the Berlin Wall.
The two are not otherwise connected.

My mom turned 77 on the 13th - too busy to talk to me on the phone cuz some of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were there having a party.

My Mom's birthday was the 13th - the same day when, in 2004, Hurricane Charley swept over my house.

Barb, yes. I was extremely fortunate as I lost only a few shingles off the roof and part of my privacy fence blew over. Of course, Charley's sisters Frances and Jeanne did the exact same thing ...
But I consider myself very fortunate.
