I hate to correct you, but Quarterlife will be shown on NBC, not ABC. Secondly, the show is being made as one-hour episodes, which are being chopped up into short segments for the Web. What you've posted (as a look at Quarterlife.com will show) is parts one to five of episode one.

Thanks for the correction as to the network. I've posted it already. (The other stuff I've addressed in the "corrections" paragraph.)
It was really a brutal blunder; the wrong damn network. And I'd have been off to Thanksgiving Dinner and it would have been up all day with me being the fool. A much appreciated catch. Thanks again.

Patience, grasshopper. Patience.
Don't you like, have a zillion people to feed or something.
I was about to go back to sleep, but I'll give you an open thread in a few minutes.
Gee.

I haven't done the maths on how the episodes fit together, but I can't believe that each little segment is filmed individually, simply because the crew would be constantly going back and forth between locations. I'm pretty sure, for instance, that all the scenes so far at the magazine offices were filmed at the same time.
Remember as well that the each of the web segments has a minute or more of rather leisurely credits at the end. Replacing all of these with one block of credits would save five minutes or more.

I've fixed all this. I'm agreeing with you on the filming.
What I disagree with is about the editing, and about the writing.
They have to take 48 minutes and drop it down to 41 minutes. That's a 7 minute drop. Also, I'd need to look at the scripts they say they'll have (and may in fact have already) up at the site, to see how they're writing the script, but my strong guess is they're writing it not as a one-hour in six acts.
I wouldn't anyway.
I'd break story that'd way, but each individual web episode also needs to completely stand on its own in a way that a single act of a one hour drama does not, because all you've got is 2 minutes of commercials, maybe 3 before you're back from the act break. Here, you've got to bring in more back story, make the emotion stronger, do lots more to keep people coming back, and each episode must be fully complete, as opposed to say, the third act of a four act one hour drama, where you can be setting up the fourth act and don't need to worry about being complete.
That's not the case here.
Got to go. It's Thanksgiving.

I'm watching the show ON quarterlife.com
MUCH better video/audio quality there. And a much larger screen size.
I recommend you go there to watch, even though I've got them up here.
