old style cannon were very dangerous. the continental army gunners were among the first troops to start putting identification tags in both boots. as it was explained to me by an old salt who noticed i still had my dog tags around my neck.

Most kite-surfing rigs come with a quick disconnect to prevent exactly that kind of thing from happening. When I used to kite buggy (same deal, except on a lakebed or large field), I had a snap shackle and rigging knife in a forearm sheath for backup.
