Hope is a tenacious thing. As battered and despairing as the last seven years have left me feeling, and no matter how much I try to beat it back, I can feel a small tendril of hope trying to push its way to the surface. It's risky to allow it its place, but unfortunately I don't seem to have much say in the matter. So yeah, some things might change come January. And maybe not. But that little "might" unquestionably wields some power. Hang in.
Wow - an all time favorite piece of mine. Reading this sent me off on a long YouTube quest today and ,while I didn't find a version by Furry lewis, I did find one by Jorma Kaukonen (Hot tuna, Jefferson Airplane) and posted a bunch of his videos on my blog.
sometimes the hardest thing is sorting out emotions and reasons and catching the depression before it bites and holds fast. i'm glad i am medicated but it does blunt my creativity. that hurts but not as much as being unmedicated. that could be really harsh.
i love the blues.every summer, they have a big blues festival about a mile or less from my house.just had it. i never go. too many people. i do better in small groups. there's a great littlebar/blues place close by too but somehow, i never get there either. so, i listen to my cds and wyep on saturday nights when i am able to. funny, sometimes the blues help and sometimes i just can't even put them on.

I'm pretty bummed at the plans of the clintonistas for the convention. Just a pity the wasted energy over nothing. The emails and papers that came out showed she had no money around NH time even, and no plan for ST let alone beyond. I wish they could see the damage they do. So the convention will be ruined now we'll beat ourselves as usual it seems. THAT'S what makes me bummed. Just a shame. *shaking head*
Going to see Jackson in Phx, got pretty good seat too, and his suit makes for a bright spot in my day.

The only good thing about being a soon-to-be unemployed (after August 29) Web developer at the age of 53 smack dab in a recession is that it forces me to look inward a bit instead of obsessing so much about the fact that the Clintons are about to hijack the Democratic convention, Jerome Corsi's lies about Obama are #1 on the New York Times bestseller list, and once again we are going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Call me self-centered, if you must, but I need it to keep sane.
A meeting is taking place as I type that will determine my future plans. It's out of my hands the option they determine. But there are other options. Always other options.
We must press onward, indeed. If that plan doesn't work out, then another one will. Every road block placed before us is an opportunity to find the even better way. We can do it. We must. Out of the blues, comes those new plans, I think.
At this point, the clintonistas are lost. They can hatch their plans, execute them as we've seen playing out before us, but they cannot win anything. Every one of their options leads to certain loss for them. Every.Single.One.
