Goddamn hippies.

"I'm Finished".

The big pink mothership is landing to take the hillaryis44 crowd back to Pluto.

Gravatar by a dirty snotty nose...

Gravatar Here's why the joint ticket is just not the way to go.....

Gravatar i love this photo. I know I say it every time, but I do... and I hope that the idealist, loving couple in this shot can work with everyone else to help our party and kick mccain's butt in nov.

Gravatar At the speech Bill looked like he had just been told in no uncertain terms the VP slot would not be in the offing.

I'd be willing to bet it was a cash only offer.

Gravatar By a freckle ...

50.9 to 49.1!

Gravatar The most scrumptious irony in this whole thing: Operation Chaos means that Clinton can't even properly claim the slim win.

The net delegate haul from Indiana is going to be marginal-to-nil and the popular vote margin will be stomped to nothing by Obama's NC margin (which should also take care of Clinton's PA margin, thanks so much).

The only record left for Clinton to spin will be the one entitled "A Win is a Win." But every time someone wheels out that worn old line, it'll be immediately shot to nothing by someone pointing out that Clinton's margin of victory was most likely the result of a dittohead ratfuck.

Rush and the Clintons will have matching eggs on their faces, and I have to say the look suits them.

Gravatar littlest hussein gator,

I very much agree. Its a nice photo in that they both look very sweet and genuine. Somehow I see it as the "before photo", as in before the lies, the compromises, the deals. In other words, before they were both seriously affected by politics. Any number of images of them on the campaign trail would make a suitable "after photo". Lets hope that in times to come, they both become more like the way they were in the "before photo".

Gravatar Bill Clinton looks like Bill Walton:

http://www.sportscrack.com/image.../ billwalton.jpg

I think Walton inhaled (inhales?) though.

Now that Hillary barely managed to eke out a victory in Indiana, maybe she'll do us all a favor and concede so that we can finally start to roll on the serial flip flopper McCain.

Given what has happened in the recent house elections and the sheer turnout in the Dem primaries (and lack of turnout in the Republican primaries), I'm becoming somewhat optimistic about our chances at steamrolling the Republicans in November.

Gravatar Periwinkle Spark Plug, my hope is that when this is behind them they will start listening to their better angels again. They could so be the leaders of the party that they THINK they are, if they put the people and the good of the nation ahead of themselves. And I don't even mean this in terms of the nomination but in terms of the way they have campaigned to GET the nomination. If she doesn't concede for two weeks or so, but campaigns with grace and class, then steps down after kentucky, oregon and w. va. then she can bow out with her pride in tact and we can get on with the daunting task of saving the usa.

Gravatar the two campaigns meet head to head

Gravatar That's one heck of a hairdo.

Gravatar Actually, lhg, I was thinking about something more along these lines.

(the rest of that site is rather offensive in a snotnosed punk kind of way, and I make no representations, etc.)

Gravatar "Periwinkle Spark Plug, my hope is that when this is behind them they will start listening to their better angels again."

-Personally, it would do me good to never to see or hear from either of them ever again.

Gravatar I would be amazed if hillary is done. she wont leave with a bang. no final connsceion speach, no graful exit. she will stay untill we all start ignoreing her, and then she will quietly vanish.

I expect mroe drama at teh convention honestly...this was over a long time ago, shes jsut the side show.

Gravatar Today is the day for Hillary. She can rediscover the woman in that photo, acknowledge that the people have spoken, and let us all start fighting McSame now. Or she can let Penn, Wolfson, and the DLCers and K Streeters reinforce her sense of entitlement once again, and continue with a wasteful effort that only helps Rush Limbaugh and John McCain.

This morning, as she dodges the media's questions about her huge loss in NC and her embarrassing win in IN, I hope she's discussing the best way to concede rather than the best way to game the superdelegates.

Gravatar Oh and as someone who liveed msot of my life next to indiana, spent lots of time in lake county, and every summer in indianapolis I consider thsi a win for Obama.

Indiana was the headquarters of the KKK for a long time...there are still plenty of folks proud of that fact. Those suburbers in lake county you kept hearing about are purwe white flight land...folks that thaught the rest of the chicago suburbes where gettign too intagrated. Obama pulled even in one of the most racists states in the country.

Gravatar "Oh and as someone who liveed msot of my life next to indiana, spent lots of time in lake county, and every summer in indianapolis I consider thsi a win for Obama."

Considering that 10s of thousands of Indiana conservatives likely did Rush Limbaugh's bidding and actually voted for a Clinton, it's even more clear cut than the casual racism you describe.

Gravatar I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for either one of them to start acting like they have some sense.

I'm done with both of them.

The point of last night is now that it matters so much less what either of them want or do.

The focus should be on McCain and the general election.

Thus Obama will start campaigning in general election states.

Gravatar OTB. you still see "Get the US out of the UN" birchers signs, and confederate faklgs all of In...the racism isn't casual.

regardles of what teh clintons do, we need to start giving them teh ron paul treatment.

just ignore their antics.

Gravatar Mr. Stoopid:

"Dittohead ratfuck"...:o)

That was it; and it was true in Texas, too, where Obama won the delegate count despite the Limburger Crossover. :o)

But this morning, it's all over but the shouting. Obama's speech was just about perfect. As Littlest G. noted, very presidential.

Not lost on the super-delegates, I'm sure.

The fact is, Hillary's running out of peckerheads to pander to. :o)

And I don't mean just in states; their numbers are dwindling by the week, as the reality of what george bush has done to two countries, America and Iraq, sinks home.

Simultaneously with the returns, CNN was running those good DNC commercials on McCain, which used his own words against him. :o)

And we're going to be hearing a lot about "Bush's third term." Which, imho, are three VERY useful words. :o)

Gravatar "And we're going to be hearing a lot about "Bush's third term." Which, imho, are three VERY useful words. :o)"

That and the photo of "the hug." Preferably with "4 More Years??" written across the bottom in nice bold letters.

I'd go so far as to suggest that any blog or Web site (on any topic) that opposes neoconservatism in the slightest keeps that image in a prominent place on the front page til November 5th.

Gravatar Didn't Limbaugh's Operation Chaos give her this victory?

I'm proud of the people who tried to end our nightmare and I'm grateful that they did it.

Gravatar I'm proud of them, too, Cee. And I'm proud of Obama; and fired up about his being on the verge of capturing the nomination. He's a very bright guy, and has handled Clinton and her paradoxical bullshit of:

"I'm a tough, savvy, candidate, whose entitled to this, but if you're taking it away from me, then I'm a poor little victim-lady, who should have the nomination as ass-salve.", very well.

Last night was a good one, for America. :o)

(I slept better than I have in a while. :o) )

Gravatar That early Bill & Hillary photo? As the Grateful Dead said "what a long strange trip its been." Somehow that photo makes me feel good about them again. A reminder of what drew me to them back in '92.

As for all the idiot peckerwoods that can't stand that Bill & Hillary were once DFHs, or that Obama is an educated "uppity" you-know-what... Well, fuck 'em. And I say that sincerely, having grown up on a farm and still having boyhood friends that fit that description.

Gravatar It's a good day, today! *G* As Tan, I slept well last night, too!!

Big job ahead of us now. The voting process is gamed with electronic machines, denial of voters rights (ID LAWS) and more.

Take note, folks, and get ahead of the game.
Google Von Spakovsky. There's some serious FEC shit coming down, and King Georgie Boy is in the thick of it.

Vigilance is ours!!!! Be aware! 'MeriKa NEEDS wares!

Seriously, the gaming of the vote is now full afoot. Stay up on it, read Brad Blog for latest details, and hassle the shit outta yer elected reps in both houses to prevent another theft of our country.

Harumph.

Gravatar Every time I see that picture, it becomes more difficult to believe Bill "didn't inhale".

Not that there's anything wrong with inhaling ...

It's sort of sad, in a reverse-Dorian-Gray sense. Letting ambition trash every one of your ideals surely leaves a mark, doesn't it?

Gravatar "Take note, folks, and get ahead of the game."

Abso-fraking-lutely, larue. Now that they know who their opponent is, the GOP is going to mess with the vote in every way possible, from the FEC, through state-level poll taxes, through Premiere Elections (that's Diebold to you and me), to deceptive WVWV-style robocalls, all the way to intimidating voters on election day. And after the polls close, prepare for multiple repeats of Florida in 2000.

Choose one issue, follow it like a hawk, and keep everyone informed. The GOP is used to getting free passes on this shit, but we're not the MSM or the DLC Dems.

Gravatar "It's sort of sad, in a reverse-Dorian-Gray sense."

Greek tragedy, complete with the fatal flaw and chorus. The curtain is closing now, and the second performance in the double bill is about to begin.

Gravatar The strategy against a Hillary candidacy would have been destroy the candidate, against Barack it is going to be suppress the vote and cheat like hell.
