Terry McAuliffe = Arsehole........ and not a very good one at that. No wonder the Clinton campaign is stuttering, relying on these '90's has-beens.

'Nuff said.

Gravatar worse than that, it seems to me they are working 24/7 for Hillary BUT working against the democratic party?! WTF

Gravatar DLC says it all.

Gravatar America, land of mystery.

HRC now has public support from both Ann Coulter & Rush Limbaugh, a statement explicitly endorsing John McCain ahead of her Dem opponent, & McAuliffe endorsing FOX NEWS to her credit. Given these credentials, I have to wonder: how can she still be running almost neck-&-neck with Obama, let alone winning ANY primaries?

Gravatar It's enough to make you paranoid. If you aren't already.

I mean, what's next? A joint endorsement of Hillary, by Gore and Edwards?

But, in fairness to FauxNews, I'd like to post a good article about "wasteful government spending".

:o)

http://apnews.myway.com//article.../ D90AG45G0.html

Gravatar Lil' Gator, I just posted the link to McCauliffe's pimping for Faux, after they've been pimping for Hillary; on Hullabaloo, on the "Obama tries to rewrite the script" thread.

And I gave you and GNB a hat-tip for posting it.

Let's see if it stays up. :o)

Gravatar Why is this surprising is my question. Why? Tanbark has posted over and over about Rupert Murdock's connection with Hillary. They have been pimping her all along. Its their agenda. It's the republican agenda. Just like hillary sitting down with the editorial board of that philly newspaper. Same thing. Mcaulif is her freaking campaign manager. McAuliff is why we've LOST the previous elections!! He's the master at stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. Its what he does.... over and over.

President Obama was on there today.... I didn't see it but I heard it was okay but the commentary sucked as ususal. He's been right to boycott them and he should continue. Throw them a bone, sure, fine. But to suck up like the hillary campaign staff.... well, that should make it crystal for those with the hazy goggles.

The only thing as bad, if not worse, is the continued appearances of Harold Ford (DLC) on msnbc posing as a Democrat. What a fucking farce THAT is.

Until anyone gets that we don't have to, and should not, kiss the republican's ass, or ANY status quo cheerleaders, we will have more of the same imperial dynasty petulance that we've had.

End it.

BIIIIIIG props to you TLG for your posting this! The media and the clinton campaign has gone insane. You can only hear so much crazy talk and mcauliff is front and center

Gravatar I'm very much against the DLC.

And I'm glad TLC put this up.

What I'm equally pissed about is Senator Obama going on Fox today. I waited and held my fire to see if, as his senior aides promised, he'd "take it to Fox."

He did not.

Why should he? He knows the people who support him in the netroots are going to, for the most part, let him slide, say, well, Hillary has done worse.

ANY DEMOCRAT WHO GOES ON FOX HURTS ALL OF US. Fox isn't news; it is right wing propaganda.

Shame, shame, shame on all of them.

If Obama fans let him off the hook for this -- something he knows and every Democrat knows is important to the netroots -- now, when he actually needs our votes, how in the hell do you expect to hold him to account if and when he's elected President?

Gravatar Jesse - since the PA vote, all news seems to be right wing propoganda. I mean, did you see the garbage they've been saying..... stiiiilllllll saying she won Texas. She.did.not.

I half agree with you that he should not have gone on fox. However, there is a point where he DOES have to make the attempt.

I didn't see it but realistically he cannot go on there and "give it to them". Why feed THAT spin monster? Sounded to me like it did the minimum. And out of that, I'm sure, they'll be spinning their little pointy heads off. I don't think it cost him anything to go on there, where as to NOT go on for a simple bone throw, could have been more easy fodder for the clintonista manchine.

As far as the netroots.... I gotta tell you, and I hope you don't take it all personal like, but I'm disappointed in them supporting, or at least not actively, specifically, opposing the continuation of a campaign that is certain to undo us all with their crazy talk. Its just not what I thought I'd be seeing given the very active and vociferous opposition to the current imperial dynasty that we've seen. Of all things I thought the netroots was united on was not repeating the past.... including family members as puppets of the status quo. I was wrong and I have had to accept that. Its been very disappointing to me though.

The bottom line is, and always has been for me, the dynasty mindset must be obliterated for anything to move an inch. Risk nothing, gain nothing. Sad but true.

Gravatar 'doc, I agree. He should have never gone on fox. none of our dem leaders should. I think he thought he could change the meme over there, which shows a surprising hubris. Fox won't change, anyone who has seen outfoxed or any of greenwald's videos on this heinous faux news channel would no better.

I sent the obama campaign an email today, to my folks inside the finance committee and the political folks I know over there. I was bummed beyond belief that he went on, and trust me I did NOT let them/him off the hook.

also like my new acronym from you... TLC (instead of tlg) tender loving care?

Gravatar i am also pissed about Obama appearing on Fox. I think Matt Stoller and Daniel De Groot made good calls on Obama's fox appearance.

Gravatar Again it makes me think that democrats are always much better at tearing each other down Obama can find some words of praise for a cornhole like McCain but not for each other

Gravatar How come no one is continuously outraged at hillary's alliance with fox? As exemplified here by her main guy, mcauliff. They're on there all the time. She sucks up to murdock and nary a feather gets ruffled. Huh?

I'm not happy President Obama went on there, and I'll be less thrilled if it becomes a continuous deal..... BUT regardless..... He offers the ONLY path out of the repetition there is.

The DLC is how we lose.... over and over. If this appearance signals some sort of joining up with them, then that'll be another topic. That hasn't happened for Obama.

I'm more interested in people being outraged at the outrageous things coming out of the clintons' campaign on alllll channels, not just fox. Just insane stuff. We got the pubs and their pundits pumping her impossible situation up assisting her scorched earth path and there's no outrage there? I honestly don't get that. Could this tactic be more obvious. Yet, we're chasing the obama on fox red herring.

Focus.

Gravatar I agree with Jesse, and 'gator, and MyrtleJune. He should not have appeared on Faux.

I think that "reaching out" to the republicans and conservatives, is a mistake. Progressives rightly view it as something of a sellout, and the rest of the political spectrum, will view it that way, too. The conservatives and goopers are going to be suspicious of you for doing it, to the nth degree, anyway.

The short of it?

It's just more "triangulation". Not as bad as what Clinton's been doing for years now, but still, disheartening to see.

Memo to our next preznint, Barack Obama:

You are probably going to win this election. And you are probably going to win it, going away.
For every conservative vote you pick up by "bi-partisanship, you will lose at least as many votes from people who are already starting to view you as indistinguishable from Tweedle-Dum-Clinton, and Tweedle-Dum-McCain.

Stop praising McCain. Totally. If you can't say something bad about him, don't say ANYTHING. :o)

Stop schmoozing with Faux. (Leave that bullshit to Hillary.) You should utterly refuse to have anything to do with the assholes who were instrumental in beating the clusterfuck-drum, 5-plus years, ago, and whom are STILL beating it. Keeping your distance from them will reinforce the perception that you are an honorable, intelligent, candidate, who is REALLY going to get us out of the quagmire, instead of just farting-and-tap-dancing around the idea, for the benefit of the voters who are increasingly sick of bush's bloody, expensive, mayhem opera.

And, moving to the right will NOT reassure the voters who are your natural constituents that you will seriously change things, any more than Hillary doing it, in spades, has convinced republicans and independents, to vote for her, in the general.

Lastly, study this hard. Pop quiz in North Carolina and Indiana in 9 days.

Gravatar Oops! Almost forgot in the memo:

For you to diss Carter for meeting with Hamas, was bullshit.

The Isrealis have called him a "bigot" for doing it. Are you that much in AIPAC's pocket?

Senator Obama: we are at WAR, and I'm not just talking about what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those are the bloody symptoms of the political fight that we've been losing here, in America, for years.

You need to stand fast on the integrity and the INTELLIGENCE that led you to speak out against the invasion back in 2002, when the war-virus was infecting practically the whole country. And when Hillary Clinton and John McCain were helping to spread it.

That took courage, and 6 months from now, it's one of the things that can help propel you and the democrats to an historic political trouncing of the party and the philosophy which has done so much damage to America and the world, culminating with the bush administration.

But you better not turn your back on that part of your resume'; it's the best thing on there, and 6 months from now, it's going to be even better.

Gravatar I don't have a problem with Obama's strategy against McCain(praising his service before inserting the shiv of who he is now). But being interviewed by Chris Wallace on the Ailes/Murdoch network. Please.

I don't see McCain running over to get interviewed by Amy Goodman to look more like a centrist. So why the hell does Obama go over to the propaganda wing of the Republican Party? This is a problem that Democrats need to admit and come to terms with eventually. The last time the Democrats had a predominant narrative when it came to the issues was the 1970s and ever since then it has been attack each other with Republican talking points and frames. I am sick of it. It cedes leadership to a party that deserves none and whose main pride is torturing and killing brown people while giving rich people tax cuts.

Obama better call this one of those "mistakes along the way". I know he's got the whole black guy thing to deal with. Meaning he has to look inoffensive enough to white people while still looking like a serious leader. This is a hard task to pull off and no one has even come anywhere as close as Obama has at this very moment.

But still...Fox News? We are going to call you on it when you fuck up Obama, cause I don't want four more years of Bush.

Gravatar I like Wengler's about Amy Goodman, that is something else that makes me think that democratic insiders who would go to a right wing tool like the fox network but never appear on left wing media such as democracy now, or alternative radio will throw the common people under the bus and still loose elections.

Yes I'm talking about both the candidates & the party's leadership cadre.

Lastly, Amy Goodman is appearing in Minneapolis today

Gravatar I have been a staunch supporter of Obama since Edwards dropped out, but he is is now pissing me off.

He did not need to endorse Petraeus as OberKommandant for Operation Enduring Shitmire. It is, clearly, a move to the right.

Not necessary. He's in NO trouble with the voters, and if he gets even a split on May 6th, taking N.C. and losing Indiana, it will push Clinton one step closer to having to get out of the race.

Triangulation is nauseating when Clinton does it, and it's nauseating when Obama does it.

The one thing that I had believed of him, and for which I was profoundly grateful, was that he seemed to understand just how much trouble we were in, because of what george bush (with help from Hillary Clinton) has created in Iraq.

I may have been wrong.

Gravatar Oops. Forgot the link:

http://wiredispatch.com/news/?id=144947

Gravatar Nothing new here about McAuliffe. I only hope this perpetual loser is permanently marginalized in the party like Shrum if Obama wins.

As for Obama himself, I don't think any Dem should lend credibility to the Homeland propaganda network, and he's no exception. I hope this was Obama getting an appearance out of the way so Faux can't whine "he NEVER comes on our fair and balanced shows! wahhhh" during the general election, But I can just as easily imagine a campaign consultant giving him bad advice by telling him it's a legitimate news outlet.

I will email the campaign to share my thoughts. Dems have to stop pandering to people who won't vote for them no matter what, and Faux News caters exclusively to those people. Hillary doesn't get that, but perhaps Obama will.

Either way, the heat on the Dem nominee doesn't end with the general election, or even with victory in a first or second term. It's important to let them know the netroots is watching every damn move. No free passes from me.

Gravatar Tanbark - What was he supposed to say? "I'd kick his ass to curb"? Of course he will hear what patraeus has to say. (THEN kick his ass to the curb... but we won't tell that... just yet). Of course he will vote to confirm him. Who wouldn't?

He also has said, repeatedly, as CoC HE sets the mission and there WILL be a new mission for the military to achieve. He's not waivered from that. Now, WHEN he's President and starts with the 6 mo months, 6 mo months..... well, okay then that's a problem. We KNOW that's hillary's vision already but I don't for a second believe it is Obama's.

He's got to fight the DLC "dean screamers" right now until the DLC is put down and hillary sits the hell down. She empowers the republicans and gives mccain ligitimacy every day she stays in. There's no IF Obama wins, there's only WHEN. He's THE nominee and all this other hooo hawwwww is crazy talk. McAuliff is the chief crazy talker with bill and hill a close second. Make no mistake here, ALL the Obama voters must pay no attention to the insanity that we have before us. If ever there was a time rise up and wrest power from the clintonistas, this is IT.

In fact, the time may have past while everyone was sitting on their hands, waiting for the general, letting the clintons steal this election for the pubs every day the crazy-talk express continues.

Gravatar oops... CoC... I mean CiC... commander in chief. *blush* :-|

Gravatar He should have kept his mouth shut.

Just like he should have kept his mouth shut about his thinking that John McCain would make a better president than george bush.

Paris Hilton would probably make a better president than george bush, but Obama won't have to run against her.

6 months from now, Iraq is going to be THE issue in this election. In fact, sooner, I believe.

That Obama would do this, of starting to ooze to the right, is a clear sign that he and his people are, to some extent, getting into panic mode, as they watch Hillary make a little headway in the primaries, by continuing HER triangulation, and stealing Karl Rove's tactics, to try to stop him.

He needs to stay smart enough and courageous enough to distance himself from McCain and Clinton; not move toward them.

Gravatar Obama's Public backing of Petraeus, just a couple of days after HE JOINED CONDOLEEZA RICE, in hammering Jimmy Carter for meeting with Hamas, is just bullshit. Clearly, he's pre-emptively taking these conservative positions to co-opt Clinton from doing it, in what looks to be his joining her in the footrace to NOT hold the bastards to account for what they've done in Iraq.

Not only does it morally suck, but it's politically stupid, because it blurs the distinction between himself and McClinton, at a time when it is bloodily obvious that the surge is only "succeeding" to the extent that bush keeps 150,000 troops packed into Iraq, and to the extent that bush is bribing anyone willing to help him clean out the U.S. Treasury, so he can get the fuck out of Dodge, and hand it to Obama and the democrats.

(That is, bush will hand it to Obama if Obama keeps chasing the Clinton-esque price-point for kissing right-wing ass; and kissing it to the extent that he joins tweedle-dum McCain and tweedle-dee Clinton, as tweedle-doodoo Obama.

Which joining, if it continues, is going to rob him the identity he has enjoyed, of being an honest and forthright candidate, and it cost him a lot of independent support, and some good democratic support, too.

These things he's doing lately are panic-driven brainfarts. He needs to believe that the american voters will flock to someone who speaks the truth, at least in large measure, about the situation we're in.

Because, they will.

Gravatar Great info Tanbark. I was not aware of the Carter/Rice/Hammas sitch. That was wrong of him to slam on Carter for that. I agree.

I also agree about the going right instances you mention and for all the reason why. This is the tradition of how we lose and until we hold firm we will continue to lose.

My question is .... is he really going right OR is the media spinning it that way?

I've been checked out because of their incredible intensity in the spinning they're do to prop up the dlc.

At this point, Obama has got nothing to lose and needs to act like it. That's the winning tack here.

Great stuff Tanbark

Gravatar With these things, I don't think there's any doubt that he's moving to the right.

You can't spin his criticism of Carter, nor his support of Petraeus.

Nor, his praise of McCain as a better president than Bush. It's not as bad as Hillary out-and-out vetting McCain as a potentially good CIC, but it was still a jaw-drop, for me to read he'd said that, of a candidate who's peddled the koolaid, and has drunk it himself, like it was his mother's milk.

Of course, McCain is now making a slight effor to put some distance between himself and bush, but Obama can still implant McCain on bush's ass like a wart, if he's diligent about it. But every time he says something good about McCain, it gets harder.

I'm starting to think that since both Clinton and Obama are now moving to the right, it might not be better just to go on and have McCain win the white house. If that happens, the repubs won't be able to claim that we were winning in Iraq, and the democrats sold us out.

Of course, there is the little thing about who gets to replace the ageing Supremes with more judicial Attila-The-Hun's. And all of the other appointments.

And, since the democrats are starting to look like an NBA team that's decided to throw the championship series, Hillary's and Obama's coattails are shrinking by the minute, it will probably mean that the takeover of our corporate 4th Reich will be complete, we might should still vote to keep the GOP out of the Oval Office, but Jesus Christ, it's at the point that when I read what Clinton and Obama are both saying, and how hard the MSM and the GOP are working to have her to run against, it's starting to turn my stomach, to see Obama grovelling for the right like this.
