More proof of how reality-avoiding scrambles one's ability to make accurate predictions.
The whole bunch have enshrined such phrases as "Who could have predicted" and "We didn't anticipate" and the like.
Well, they can't. That's the problem when you start believing what you want instead of what is real.

I would describe it more like the "Fecal Touch"
I even wrote a song about him.
"Shitfinger, he's the man, the man with the fecal touch."

The late, great sf writer Theodore Sturgeon called it the "Sadim touch".
I like to think of Little Boots as the single most powerful argument against a hereditary aristocracy that the world has yet produced.

Prof fate:
Every hereditary aristocracy that actually wields real power is going to give you a Little Boots sooner or later.
Just look at the first wearer of that title.
Or the Qing Dynasty: three first-rate emperors, followed by decay and stagnation. Followed, itself, by a near-complete political and cultural collapse, consequent to pressure from the West that China was in no position to deal with.
Or Syria, where Hafez Al-Assad, a ruthless and despotic but very able ruler, was succeeded by Bashar, who is a complete lightweight.

Shouldn't be a surprise that the Maliki/Badr government we have been long supporting also has a long history of Iranian revolution complicity with regards to shiria, and a womens place therein. All our supposed friends within the Iraqi government are figments of a low spark imagination that happens to live in Crawford Texas, most of the time. And judging from the Texas legislature this particular turn of events is not unwelcome.

While I watched Dear Leader strut and preen his way across the USS Lincoln in '03 I recall saying that we've apparently won the war - now let's see if we can win the peace (which I defined as keeping a lid on things until a government could take over).
We lost the peace about six months later, and all we've been doing the past 5 years is fighting a holding action.

Why in the hell would they film themselves? I'm sorry, but that was fucking stupid. Poor dumbasses didn't deserve to die, though.

Regular people? Then yeah, Bush has an uncanny ability to turn gold into shit.
But the top 0.1%? War profits baby! Control that oil! Grab more power!

Lebanon isn't exactly Bush's fault. The country has never settled the fundamental crisis created by its constitution, which gives a huge amount of power to certain religious minorities (and it's also one of the reasons the country hasn't had a census in decades). Now throw in the demographic changes (especially the rising Shia population), and Hezbollah's popularity, and you've got a horror show in the making. What didn't help was Bush's hamhanded actions, namely backing Israel's brutally inept offensive, and convincing Siniora to do nothing while the bombs were dropping. And I have no doubts Dear Leader is behind the decisions that led to the latest round of street fighting (trying to shut down Hezbollah's communication grid and sacking a general to the organization).
