Gravatar Too bad you didn't mention that Mark Ritchie (D), SOS of Minnesota has also set up a wonderful web site for overseas voters from his state.

Gravatar Here is the link to the Minnesota overseas voter registration site: https://minnesota.overseasvotefou...erseas/ home.htm

Gravatar Thanks Gladys! I like the interface and grassroots efforts behind VFA more. Plus in these dire times we are focused more on registering Democrats and folks who want to support progessive candidates. Of course anyone can use VFA but we specifically are a part of the democratic party, and OVF is focused on other things.

Gravatar I wonder if the military will allow the votes of soldiers who vote for Barack Obama to even go through.

Gravatar So, like, why DO you folks live overseas?

I did, when a young one, cuz my parents did.

My pop's job, one he DESIGNED for his EDD from Columbia in '52.

I've always thought about going back to SE Asia, but never did, and likely never will.

Why do YOU folks choose to be there, and not HERE? I'm guessing you have all kept your US citizenships? Or duals, where it works?

Just curious . . . yer all talented, and bright. I'll guess it's NOT for the money . . .

Gravatar Any activity that can possibly result in the millions of voters in Puerto Rico finally being able to vote for the President? Puerto Rico is the only place in the world where a US citizen resident absolutely cannot vote in the Presidential elections. We also don't pay Federal taxes {also the only place in the world} so maybe that is a plus for some.

Gravatar Not just Puerto Rico... get this, the other place is Washington DC.

we are the only democratic country in the world where citizens in the capital city cannot vote for the country's leader.

Gravatar Are there any hard-copy resources available? I was thinking of putting up signs in my Canadian city with the VFA URL on them. If Dems Abroad has a pdf of a poster I'll print that out. (Otherwise I'll make my own, but it probably won't be too slick.)

And larue, the primary reason I live abroad is because I married a Canadian.

Gravatar Sorry that I failed to mention DC. That is yet another unfortunate exception.

Gravatar katmh, we have a great tear off flyer.
I will add a link in the post as an update.

Gravatar I thought Sara and Evan were Canuckian, is that considered "overseas"?

No implied criticism since I'm trying to emigrate to NZ like my sister (she says nurses and tandem guys are in demand).

blue skies!

Gravatar I don't consider Canada to be 'overseas'.

My wife's from Nova Scotia.

I may soon seek Canadian citizenship.

So, why do the primary thread admin's of this site live overseas?

Canada Excluded.
