Love the thought that Cheney's paranoia may be increased a thousandfold just as he prepares to leave the comfort of his undisclosed location.

Maybe this is why they keep him there.

Great story, Evan.

How long before someone creates an "ICD sniper rifle"?
"Mr. Vice President, I'm afraid you're going to have to enter the Faraday Cage. Permanently"
Not soon enough I fear - then again I read somewhere yesterday that John McSame was seriously considering having Cheney in his cabinet or some other high office. So, get to work on those blueprints

Uh, you folks DO realize the gummint can surf the Web, too, doncha?
The more you folks talk like Jacobins, the more I come to fear y'all more than the "ancien regime"--at least they're the devils I know.

The amazing thing is that all this information is not only open source, even the model number of Cheney's ICD is easily available on the web.
A quick check of the google for "Cheney pacemaker hack" finds around 18000 documents.
One wonders if Medtronic or someone else makes a high-security version. Probably not yet, because security is a medical issue during an emergency (how about an ER being unable to reprogram the ICD because the patient is unconscious and they don't have the 4 digit PIN?).

Evan: you hit the problem with a real security system for these things on the head.
